My favourite pommy movie ever is 'Snatch' and my favourite pommy invention ever is Wimbledon.
In case you're wondering - and I know I have you on the edge of your seats right now - curry after a night on the turps wins the silver with bangers and mash, english breakfast tea and Keira Knightley fighting it out for the bronze.
Why not combine the two I thought? Don't mind if I do. So, without further delay, here's some Wimbledon awards courtesy of Turkish, Mickey, cousin Avi…

Sadly, my singles league was canceled just after the first week for this season due to only four people signing up, and then another one dropping after the start.
Luckily, the league coordinator gave my information as a substitute for doubles, so this week, I played my first doubles match. My husband gave me a lot of practice volleying and hitting cross court which came in pretty handy last night. It's Round Robin doubles, and the scores for my teams were 6-0, 5-6, and 6-5. Not too…

With all due respect to Andy Roddick (and he's bound to get even more), all seems right in the tennis world again after Roger Federer's win on Sunday. He's back as the Wimbledon champion and back as the #1 ranked player. Other milestones or records he has broken and set so far this summer: 20th and 21st consecutive Grand Slam semifinal appearances (record), 5th and 6th consecutive Grand Slam final appearances, 20th career Grand Slam final appearance (record), 6th man to achieve the career Grand…

The new Wimbledon roof: If you don’t build it, it will rain. But if you build it, Murray will complain.
Andy Roddick seems to have matured. Is it the punani or the Stefanki? Discuss.
Was Djokovic at Wimbledon? I didn’t see him. I think I saw his shadow playing on a nether court but that can’t be true cuz he’s not ugly.
Federer had a jacket with the # 15 imprinted in gold on the back. What would he have done if he had lost? Was there a back-up clothing…

Roddick transformed his game for the better. Played a history making match. Only lost by 2 points. He makes a joke to federer. the joke was federer "u already won three Wimbledon" or " u already won one I have none." quote not exact but close enough. winning is a test of skill & focus. Losing is a test of charater & endurance. & Great champions are masters of both. Please visit CoachV

That was some tournament, huh? (in what can be classified as the understatement of the year!) Epic matches, history being made, amazing performances, just inspiring.
It's so inspiring, in fact, I decided to write a little poem about it that I like to call "An Ode to Wimbledon." And it goes a little something like this:
Congratulations, Roger
On making more history.
How you got that break in the end
To some, is a mystery!
But break you…

...Officially, dominant performers have every right to enter any contest they chose. But unofficially it is understood that they had better not because audiences would be most unhappy. And so, usually at the point at which their dominance peaks, they start being pressured to give others a chance. Or to paraphrase John McEnroe during his post-match interview of Federer, they start feeling that it is time to throw the other guy a bone...

Wow I can't believe Federer just won Wimbledon and surpassing Pete Sampras' record. The serving from both players was outstanding and the match was really neck and neck pretty much the whole way through. Roddick really had his chance in that second set and I think if he had won that set there could possibly have been a different outcome to the match. Roddick really played the best I've ever seen him and yet it wasn't enough to stop Federer. As John McEnroe said if Roddick had been playing…

Hola,
Please check out my new website, www.noworriestennis.com.
It's totally devoid of political correctness and guarantees to be entertaining and make you think, laugh and hopefully teach you something at the same time.
I am sick of generic BS tennis journalism so I have started out on my own crusade that aims to make tennis even more fun to follow.
Enjoy.

The Bryan Brothers are the #1 team in tennis.
Nestor and Zimonjic are #2.
The Bryans regained #1 after dethroning Mr.Nestor from the #1 position.
Nestor-Zimonjic hold a 5-3 lead over the brothers in head to head match-ups.
The Bryan's and of course Nestor (with relatively new partner) are easily the most decorated and accomplished doubles pairs in mens tennis. They own all of the titles, including Olympic Gold between…
