Roger, when it matters..

Robin Soderling keeps saying that he is getting closer and closer for each time he is facing Roger, he has lost 13 of their meetings and was able to win 14th time lucky at the Abu Dhabi Capitala tournament. But can you really give him credit for the win? First of all the tournament isn't more than a warmup for the year comming up in my opinion and when it really matters, Robins chances are slim, I mean just look at these highlights:

Memorable Tennis Moments of the Aughts

Nicolas Canteloup and Martina Hingisat the Gucci Master Jumping - Paris

...On the men’s tour, the decade of the aughts (00’s) belonged principally to Nadal and Federer. Among the women, there is no question that the William sisters were dominant. And while Nadal and Federer carved out a rivalry from the get-go, the sisters initially struggled when facing each other. Serena has since decisively won the mental game against her sister. But it was Venus who… Continue

Federer loses top spot to Djokovic in newly launched TennisEarth Ratings

Have you ever wondered how it feels to win two Grand slams in a year, along with the final spot in all four majors and still be ranked No.2 at the yearend rankings? Of course, you don't, after all we are not even close to being in the same league as tennis great Roger Federer and so it inevitably brings a variety of responses to the fore, doesn't it? The year 2009

The tennis year of 2009 started of as the first year ever when people started to doubt Roger Federers ability. Discussions were being held all over the world, in the magazines, newspapers and online. Was Roger going to be able to win a slam again after the devastating loss at the Australian Open where he shared his most inner feelings with the world. For me personally, 2009 was the first time I thought I saw a new side of Roger. One that was very arrogant, one without patience and respect for… Continue

What tennis players can learn from Tiger's collapse

California v Stanford

...Every so often the American public becomes fascinated with the destruction of a life. We pull up seats and take in the spectacle. For a while there it was Jon and Kate Gosselin who clearly got more than they had bargained for when they pimped out their children for fame and money. The latest spectacle is Tiger Woods and his apparent mistresses. Each day a new mistress emerges.… Continue

What a great week it has been.

Rafael Nadal who wanted to do well and who never gave up, unfortunately could never be aggressive enough to make any difference.

Right now, men's tennis is all kinds of awesome

Barclays ATP World Tour Finals - Media Day

I have been on such a high. My high started with the released photo of the group of men finalists all dressed in suits. Some of them looked as if they had never put on a suit before and couldn’t wait to wrench it off their bodies and go back to being sweaty. Others looked as if they were born to be dressed by Anna Wintour. Either way, they all looked all kinds of awesome, a… Continue

ATP World Tour Finals 2

There are two feelings going through my mind when discussing Robin Söderlings great success so far in the finals, everybody knows he won in straight sets versus Rafael Nadal. The first feeling is tells me that it is great to see a swedish tennisplayer that has achieved such success!

A dedicated player with all the shots needed to play on such a high level. The other feeling does not really like Robin. And I am not only talking about his personality, everyone is different, some are… Continue
