Right now, men's tennis is all kinds of awesome

Barclays ATP World Tour Finals - Media Day
I have been on such a high. My high started with the released photo of the group of men finalists all dressed in suits. Some of them looked as if they had never put on a suit before and couldn’t wait to wrench it off their bodies and go back to being sweaty. Others looked as if they were born to be dressed by Anna Wintour. Either way, they all looked all kinds of awesome, a group of men dressed in their Sunday best, representing the cream of the tennis crop.

Go here for the rest of this entry and here for my blog. And thanks as ever for reading!

let's not diminish what Davydenko has accomplished. this is not like the women who showed up in Doha looking all kinds of broken down. the men played their best and Davydenko delivered. i noted his improved form in Shanghai when he beat Nadal. that was no fluke. he has become a serious contender because he focuses on playing intelligent tennis.

agree with your suit assessments! :-)

I agree with a number of your points...I liked the fact that the ATP put together this photo op, it's nice to see professional men dress the part. I think the thing that jumps out at me the most is how MINIATURE Davydenko looks standing between two 6 foot 3 guys (Murray and Soderling)....I guess good ol' 5-10, 145 pound Nikolay got the last laugh. Del Potro looks kinda uncomfortable in the suit, Murray looks like his is half off and he's on his way to a pub to meet friends...and of course, Wintour's crush, excuse me...I meant "buddy" (Federer) looks like he was born in a suit. Rafa, however, is starting to embrace some new looks lately and I think the suit definitely works for him. Does ANYONE think Davydenko is a serious threat for 2010 or is it that the big guns (Federer with the twins, Djokovic burned out after a stellar fall, Nadal still hurting in multiple ways) were broken down and Nikolay capitalized?
