Criticism on fashion faux-pas isn't new in tennis fraternity, but bringing someone under scrutiny for 'Creative Independence' makes things questionable. Tennis Star Venus Williams, true to form, has once again created quite a stir with her fashion sense.
When American tennis superstar Venus Williams, a fashion major from the Art School of Fort Lauderdale, appeared on court for her opening match at the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, she opened doors for…

So todays match from a random player on a local league I was playing my
own style of counterpunching with full racquet head speed on most of
the shots deep from corner to corner and being defensive and also
offensive. Game plan was working well when I was actually
counterpunching and focusing getting ball in play while moving the
player... Occasionally I would go for winners when there is opening..
but sticking to game plan that was working and was up 4-2. Then I…

The Prem Tennis Academy uses the words Wholistic and Holistic inter-changeably. Holistic comes from the Greek word Holos, which means " to heal". Essentially Holistic refers to a “wholeness” or a place of wholeness. This spelling and this… Continue

I caught my first glimpse of Radwanska on a sunny Saturday in September, and my impressions were not favorable: an insufferable runt, not unlike her pet rats Flippy and Floppy, had inexplicably expelled my favorite player from the Slam where she had been the defending champion. Since then, however, I’ve gradually warmed to the Pole and grown to appreciate her and her game for what they are: a dedicated, hardworking player who maximizes her…

Tennis really is a discipline in terms of mental focus. I was playing a
match tonight and there were lot of chatter in the court next to us and
at first it was hard to focus but I did a quick imagery where I put all
four people in the garbage can in my head. (like putting your pc files
in your recycle bin) Then I had to focus on my game and that part I had
no clue in some situations as i just had mental relapses... I don't
know if it was my tension in racquet that…

So i was anxious and excited about second usta match and like previous matches that seem to "count" (in this case for myself and my team.. along with a onlookers watching) I seem to over analyze (or worry) about my game plan and such since I've never met the person or his style of play. Well, it turns out that the other team defaulted on #2 singles spot which was me and at that point, I was relieved of my anxious symptoms .. .but also bummed out that i couldn't play.. But one thing that struck…

Just a couple of days ago I was questioning whether James Blake has any tennis left. The answer was a somewhat qualified No. And last night I watched as Ivan Ljubičić sent Rafael Nadal packing out of Indian Wells and it did not even occur to me to ask that question. So then I had to ask myself, how come? What is it that I think that Looby has at age 31 that Blake doesn’t at age…

There was this poll on another tennis blog that I thought asked one of the best questions I've seen in a long time. It was heading into the women's quarterfinals at the upset-plagued BNP Paribas Open and asked not who was going to win the tournament, but who really needed to win the most for their career. I think I voted for Agnieszka Radwanska, because what has she… Continue

I think I'm playing way too much tennis and I think it's becoming bit unhealthy at times and also like any other type of addiction I can't seem to stop... I think it stems from the fact that more you play the better you will get... and that's partially true for me but since I'm not professional and weren't bred to be one... I think it's doing more harm then good when playing too much.. I know pros that's there job and playing 4-8 hours a day is normal and I used to think how cool and fun it…

So usually when I go and hit with people is that they usually just rally and hit without any purpose. I don't mind this at all as i'm grateful to be on the court but sometimes there should be some goals or purpose in hitting session to develop areas in your game where your lacking. That's why once in a while I don't mind the rallies of hitting back forth (usually in the center) but I feel that if i continue to implement this every time it becomes a habit during match time. So sometimes it's…

I don’t understand the timing of Blake’s decision to part with his coach. I’m not saying that it was the wrong decision. On the contrary, I used to wonder why he hadn’t done it years ago.
Changing coaches must be one of the most difficult decisions a pro can make. On the one hand there is the comfort and familiarity factor, especially in situations like Blake’s…

looking to set up a group of players in the temecula/murrieta area 4.0 and up, men or women (i really hate the NTRP system so in cleartext.. solid players that are competitive, like to have fun and get a good workout, but don't like hit and giggle, clear as mud?)...singles or doubles....sound like you? I know you are out there. courts to be determined. thanks
