Clijsters upset by Li at Sydney

It's about time for me to put up a good women's final and here it is. Clijsters was up 5-0 in the first set but failed to close out. This reminds me of her loss to Petrova last year never having a foothold. Not changing game plans appeared to have cost Kim as Li played some scrappy tennis. This may change the outlook of who may win the Australian for…

Del Potro on the comeback, defeats Lopez narrowly.

Del Potro looked sharp enough, frustrating Lopez at the beginning. His trademark forehand and rock solid two hander all seemed intact, along with that thundering serve. Lopez took the match to Delpo to three very tight sets and delivered on his volleying prowess. Will Delpo be ready for the Australian, ranked in the 250s at the beginning of this match in…

Soderling hangs tough against Roddick

Roddick gave Soderling some trouble in the second set with some very clever play. Le Sod had to wade it out, picking the right moments for his missile forehand. The Swede looks a little more adept at playing the net, more maneuverable and less hesitant. Roddick also seems to have some heat in the forehand and his slice looks more…

What are you doing to prepare for tournaments?

I am trying to hit with as many different players to help me prepare for tournaments. Each player has different strengths and weaknesses. I am trying to see as many different shots as I can.

I am playing with: hard-hitters, lefty's, pushers, and hard servers.... Hopefully no surprises when it counts!!!

Federer defeats Davydenko at Doha final

Davydenko's groundstrokes had little effect on the Fed Express today. Federer made very few mistakes and kept changing his pattern. Davydenko could not get set and dictate from the middle. Well, with the Australian a little more than a week away, things look promising for the talented…

Nadal defeated by Davydenko

Nadal was not feeling well during this match, but Davydenko closed this out with little sympathy. He produced accurate shots and took over the match being down a break from the start. Nadal narrowly escaped being bageled again in the second set, but it was all Nikolai's way. No Fed/Nadal final in Doha this…

Federer vs. Nadal final at 2011 Abu Dhabi

Nadal responded to Federer's strategy of attacking returns by serving much more aggressive. You don't have much of Federer asserting the chip and charge against those serves. The other thing to note is how Federer is not crowding the baseline in these rallies. It is true that Federer had the better tempo at the beginning and Nadal weathers the storm like he usually does. Federer even had break point to win the first set. But his backhand in the…

Federer's incredible changes to win the 2010 London Masters

Federer has adapted once again to the threats of not only the young guns that could matter. In this category, I could lump together like a bag of stones: Djoko, Soderling, Berdych, Murray. The first three relying more on power and Murray relying on guile and court sense. But in the case of Nadal, he has forged a master strategy, one that I would've advocated from last year.
The increase in aggression after taking Annacone as a coach is dramatic. To win…
