I'm looking for one. Just starting to play but now a fan of tennis. I know it's kinda late but i want to play tennis for fitness and recreation. Hope there's someone out there patient enough to teach and play with me. --- F.

Soon after the Tennisopolis page was posted I received a message from Daniel Ohene, of Ghana. This is Daniel’s message:
At 4:04 pm on November 15, 2008, Ohene said… I am a poor young tennis player. Can you help me develop?
There was more information on his Tennisopolis page:
I am Daniel Ohene from Ghana. I am hoping to become like Rafael Nadal in future. I like and play tennis and sometimes serve as a ball boy for the elderly who play on the court. They encourage me to continue…

Im sick and tired of cold weather and so jealous of a lot of you out there getting out of bed having some breakfast in your pants then going for a game of tennis in the sun!
At the moment here in UK its bloody freezing, theres frost on the ground and an icy wind. Not great tennis weather and all my indoor courts are booked up for weeks.
Now I have to go shopping with the wife instead, life is so unfair!!!!
I hope you think of me whilst hitting your forehands in the sun, I'll be…

Well, the holidays are coming up fast and though I've scheduled a few games, I've run into a lot of cancellations. I'll ask for tennis lessons for Christmas, and I'll try to find match partners again in the new year.
Hope yours is great!
Oh, and if someone named "Isabel" from I think Orlando, Fl tries to "friend" you, know that she is a spambot.
Cheers!

Ok, have decided to get out and do something. Tennis and Golf seem to be the best outlets for my personality.
I live in the Jacksonville, Fl area and want to know if there is anyone out there who is a step above a beginner that would like to meet and teach me the basics and then practice/play? Also, I will be looking for my first racket in the mean time.
I will be ready the week after Thanksgiving, so any takers? I am not sure where any courts are even at. In Columbus, GA where I…

As a teaching pro I get a lot of tennis questions. They run the spectrum from equipment to injuries but, the single most asked question is: How do I choose the best racquet for me? I love this question. Like everything else, there is a method to chosing the best racquet for every player.
First, go to a sporting goods store that has a good selection of racquets. Most retailers will carry the three top brands: Wilson, Head and Prince. They may also carry one or more of the other brands…

Like millions of New Yorkers, I like to read the newspaper on the way to work while riding the subway.
This morning, I saw something in the sports section that shocked me, confused me, disgusted me, intrigued me—nearly every verb you can think of but make me happy: A loonng story on the U.S. archery team deciding to stand by its embattled coach. The coach, Kisik Lee, is under fire for the team not winning a medal in Beijing and his controversial takes on training and his religious…

Andy Murray today crashed out of the Tennis Master's Cup after a straights set defeat to Russia's Nikolay Davydenko, 7-5, 6-2.
It was clear from the off that the Scot was feeling the after effects of his epic match with Roger Federer less than 24 hours earlier. The Russian broke immediately and signs were ominous. However, Murray immediately broke back and the match went with serve until Davydenko broke at 5-5, before serving out to…

I found a tennis racket at Good Will for only $2.50, and I bought a can of balls at Walgreen's. So I headed over to the Golden Gate courts, where there's a couple of practice walls.
At the wall I noticed that too often, I hit the balls over the fence. I kept at it for a while, and though it was fun, someone started practicing next to me and since I have so little control over the ball, I decided to leave him in peace.
The next morning I met with one of my new partners,…

Last weekend we had this screening in Berlin. We screened all qualified players of the Masters Cup in Shanghai on two walls at Checkpoint Charlie. It was really fun to work with these heavy-duty projectors and see the results on the wall.
For example Roger Federer (in front you see the historic border between FRG and DDR - the sign on the right side says: "You are leaving the american sector!"):
We showed him the pictures and he…

We’ve all had the debate before. Who’s the greatest (fill in the blank) of all time? Which World Series champion would beat all others? (The 2004 Red Sox, of course.) Which Super Bowl winner is the finest of them all? In tennis, we’ve been talking about the G.O.A.T. since Roger Federer turned in his first three-major-title season in 2004.
As 2008 comes to a close and the best men, minus a banged up Rafael Nadal, travel to Shanghai, ask yourself, how does the current Top 10 compare to…
