Twitter and trash talk

I was briefly amused at the article atTennis magazine online -Daily Spin about the Andy Murray Doubles match against Blake -Isner and how Andy's older brother was using tweeter skills to throw some insults and some trash talk regarding the match and withdrawing from doubles, etc.  Kind of amusing way to be passive aggressive and let twitter do your talking!.   Read the article for the full scoop.

The Informed Tennis Buyer: Soccer Moms got it figured out!

I have heard a Soccer Mom talk of attending a recital, ballet practice, and a PTA meeting all scheduled at 9am! Do not ask me how; I am not a soccer mom! Coaching in the burbs, gave me the opportunity to witness these Wonder women types in action.

Soccer moms are quite efficient when it comes to arranging, scheduling, multiple events and commitments…

My daily tennis revue - July 22, 2011

I seem to be spending way to much time researching and studying the tennis industry these days so why not share some tidbits and brief notes here.  It looks like Venus Williams is the proud owner of 5 or so Jamba Juice Franchises and will be promoting the brand as well... they do make the best smoothies, the kids love em!

A new racket brand -'bolt' is entering the market, apparently the racket has a suspension system that keeps the strings off the frame and therefore vibration is…

Can Murray Win a Slam?

Andy Murray, the world number four, has reached three grand slam finals, losing to Roger Federer twice and Novak Djokovic once. At 24 years of age he is at the peak of his physical fitness. Is he destined to win a slam in the near future, or has he been dealt a cruel hand by being a contemporary of three incredibly gifted tennis stars?

The most common remark heard around the tennis circuit, by other players, commentators and fans alike, is that Murray is too good not to win a slam.…

7 US Men into the Main draw of the 2011 US OPen so realistically what are our chances this year?

Well under 10% of the draw at the US OPEN this year will be American players.  Underrepresented for a country with free tennis courts in every city and tennis readily available everywhere.  With 7 US men directly into the draw for the 2011 US OPEN we are looking toward Mardy Fish(no.9) andAndy Roddick(no.10) to make headlines.  Mardy has not won any titles this year but made some… Continue

Old School is Good to Strive for

I am quite surprised this evening to see a Yahoo link to the Evert-Navratilova Final of the 1986 French Open. It made me realize again this is the way young juniors need to strive to play, and not right off like Sharapova, Nadal or the top players of today's men or women. It's great to have idols but beginning juniors need to start slow and develop their games. Basic tennis is about proper form, technique, getting the ball into play and keeping it in play. As juniors mature, they…
