Delaware native Madison Brengle was one of six qualifiers to win a main draw match this week at WTA Tour and ATP World Tour tournaments. Brengle, ranked 222nd and from Dover, Delaware beat Melinda Czink 7-6(5), 7-5 in the first round at the Citi Openin College Park, Maryland.

I have heard a Soccer Mom talk of attending a recital, ballet practice, and a PTA meeting all scheduled at 9am! Do not ask me how; I am not a soccer mom! Coaching in the burbs, gave me the opportunity to witness these Wonder women types in action.

The first week and the first tournament on the 'Road to the US OPEN' is in the books and Marty Fish not only saves two match points but takes the trophy home from Atlanta. Mardy Fish, Gilles Simon, and Vera Zvonareva were all victorious on Sunday. Fish and Zvonareva took home hard court trophies and Simon won on the red clay of Hamburg, Germany.
