The nominees of this year’s Laureus World Sports Awards have been announced and as expected, most of the players that got the nod were those who performed well at the Beijing Olympics held last year.

Sarah Gronert recently found herself dogged by the controversy when some of her opponents raised the question about her so-called masculine advantage as a result of her being bornt with both male and female genitalia.
On July 6, 1986, a family in a little town of Germany welcomed a baby girl into their small world. This 'welcome', however was with a little twist of fate. The biological condition of the baby did not confirm with the stereotypical traits of any new born. It was…

Among ATP World Tour players, world number three Serbian Novak Djokovic has the best percentage when it comes to challenging calls which require the Hawkeye video replay system. Not sure if this distinction is something to be proud of, Djokovic humbly said during the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami that it doesn’t necessarily mean that he has the eye of a “falcon or something.”
ATP also revealed that women players have more sucesses in video challenges than men (36 % versus 35…

Hi I'm looking for some individuals interested in hitting around once in a while, or possibly on a weekly basis. :) Hopefully not pro players that would get bored playing with me. I've played some in High School, and last semester in college. Thanks!

What can I say? I've really been into "American Idol" this season!
Anyway, the clay-court season—the real one, not the teaser Latin American one earlier this year—kicked off this week and already there's been some pretty interesting happenings.
I guess the biggest thing is Serena Williams losing today to Klara Zakopalova (huh? who?) in the first round in Marbella, Spain. And not only did she lose the match, she also lost the number-one ranking to Dinara Safina, who'll take…

Did anyone get a chance to see the Dubai tournament this weekend? I hope I'm not alone in saying that I
enjoy watching these guys play, just as much as the regular tour. To see Stefan Edberg, one of my all
time favorites, was so cool. I really hope he continues to play, so we can see Mcenroe vs Edberg again!

Hi all. I'm a pretty good tennis player but in dire need of some practice. I'd really like to get a more stable tennis group together for singles or doubles and agree to hit at least once or twice a month, since once a week might be too much of a commitment for me. If you think you'd be interested as well and are an intermediate tennis player, let me know.
PS: probably not the best idea to leave a msg here, since I rarely check this. Hit me directly: raylight33@yahoo.com
