Award caps Nadal's perfect year

As we approach the middle of December now is the time many of us look back and reflect on the year gone by.

The same goes for the sporting world as well and for Spaniard Rafael Nadal he can look back on 2010 with a feeling of well-deserved satisfaction.

The 24-year-old was named International Tennis Federation world champion for 2010 this week after a blockbusting, title-filled year, although things didn't start to well though for the Majorca-born star.

TENNIS TIP - THE LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT

Hello Everyone from Mike Mo at Midnight Machete Clothing, Inc! Just want to share a great tennis tip that helped me win some of the tight matches... it's called "The long and the short of it" and goes something like this:

I've found that momentum is a very powerful type of energy to control on the tennis court, but if you keep "THE LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT" in mind throughout the course of a match, you'll be able to harness that momentum to benefit YOU.

After…

"Playing the big points"

As your level of play increases, simply keeping the ball in play may not be enough to win matches. The amount of control you have over the ball then becomes an important factor. Your shot placements can make all the difference. Maybe your opponent has good ground strokes and is able to effectively stay in every rally with you. If you have the ability to hit the ball short to him, high and low, in close and outside, then you will probably be able to discover more weaknesses as well as keep…

“Move your feet, control the ball, control the point”

One of the best ways to gain control of a point in progress is accomplished by gaining control of the ball and the direction you want it to go. And although all of the great players in tennis history have learned the importance of quick feet, they have also learned that once they reach the ball it is equally important to use the correct swing to direct the ball with control.…

Help!! Don't know what Head shoe to get!

I got a sneak peak of the new Head shoes coming out in March. I need to buy one type of shoe for men and another for women. They all look great but I need help on which I should get based on looks. They all have pretty much the same qualities and features and the price will range between 89 to 109. Let me know what you think!

This is the Men's Insane Pro. I like how it kind of wraps around the foot.…

“Maintain a winning attitude”

Nothing can hurt your game more than a negative attitude and a lack of enthusiasm for what you are doing. Ask your self a question. Who is responsible for your attitude? Well, I’m here to tell you that it is you and you alone. Strive to form positive thoughts in your head and in your heart whenever you walk on the court.

The fiercest opponent you’ll probably ever face in tennis is a “bad attitude”. Tremendous abilities can be wasted when a bad attitude sets in. It can block…

Can Kamke kickstart career in 2011?

Many tennis bettors are expecting more of the same when the 2011 season gets underway, with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer picking up their magnificent rivalry where they left off this year and dominating the Grand Slams and odds in betting markets in the process. With tough competition hopefully coming from players like Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, the 2011 season is sure to hold its fair share of excitement and intrigue but should we be looking… Continue

Teaching Tennis to Children

Teaching young children is not as easy as you might think. It can be very challenging. There are some adults, coaches and parents who are born with the gift of being able to communicate with children with great ease. For coaches and parents with less teaching experience where small children are concerned, here are some general principles that you should…

About Modern Tennis

Although the traditional way of teaching youngsters is still the mainstream of introducing the game, a modern style of playing and teaching is beginning to raise its head even at the beginner level. The modern game is a variation that uses different techniques of preparation and ball striking. The recent explosion of “modern tennis” was and is still being created…

Be goal-oriented!

When was the last time you walked onto a tennis court just to hit a few balls with a friend or practice partner without having a specific purpose in mind? To make the most of your court time, my advice is to use your practice time wisely. You would do well to remember this very important point – “aimless hitting” produces “aimless play”. Balls that are directed…

Prince EXO3 Tour 16x18 Love it!

I got to play doubles with this stick Tuesday evening. I have been using the Wilson 6.1 starting from the ProStaff 6.1 Classic to the 6.1 95 BLX most of my tennis life. I wasn’t too sure how the Prince EXO3 Tour 16×18 would feel since it is only 10.9oz unstrung as opposed to my 6.1 with a 11.7oz unstrung weight. I was also worried about the 100in headsize instead of 95in like my 6.1.

Well neither mattered. I loved it! With the lighter weight I was…

Can Murray end his season on a high?

Andy Murray is a man who desperately wants to win the upcoming ATP World Tour Finals in London, which get underway this weekend at the O2 Arena. Obviously winning a tournament of any size, no matter what the quality level of the players assembled, is a nice feeling, but Murray believes that winning this one, in front of a home crowd, would provide a massive psychological boost as the season draws to a close and preparations quickly begin for the 2011 season.

Murray's bid to secure… Continue
