With the Summer Olympics coming up in London in 2012 and the anticipation as Roger Federer tries to fill this hole in his trophy case, I did a little research.  Tennis has a unique history with the games, being included sporadically over the years.  Have a look at the document attached.

Could you imagine how much Mac would want to win a gold medal? He's the first one to comes to mind, especially when they didn't hold an Olympic tennis event in his prime.

this is a quote from Bryan Tuck. Djokovich has the best chance in getting a calendar year golden slam. which is winning all for majors in the calendar year & NOW winning the Olympics in that year he would be the greatest tennis player ever if he does that!

Also the timing of doing so will be so hard for the next genereations to come since the olympics comes every four year. it would be so hard to plan beating every player in the world from every country in 1 year....just imagine

CoachV to NOLE: hey Man no pressure..you can do it.

One of my tennis coaches was on the Committee for the Olympics.

I really have a hard time imagining that Djoko will be able to do what Bryan Tuck says.  He was done by the time the U.S. Open was finished last year, and now you want him to add to that pressure by winning the Olympics too?  I don't think so.  I seriously doubt he will win the calendar year Grand Slam.  I think that dream stops with the next one, the French.

in which round. What if he wins? would you root for Him? how about if Nole wins you change your avatar ......hmmm If nadal wins I will wear a Nadal bull Cap as my avatar for a little while.

If Novak manages his schedule wisely this year, especially around the French Open, he has a pretty good chance. Almost every single match I've seen him play in the last 12 months or so has been his to win or not (aside from playing Federer in the semi's at the french last year). If he keeps playing at that level or higher, I don't see anyone who would stand out as a player with the right weapons to stop him. He's in Rafa's head and that doesn't look like it's going to change soon, and we really don't know how much gas ol' Roger has left in the tank either.

That being said, I still think Rafa and Roger are his two biggest threats. Rafa plays incredible on clay especially at Roland Garros. Federer will be looking for an Olympic singles title to complete his non calendar year Golden Slam, and I'm sure he'll give Wimbledon his best shot too. Andy Murray could be considered a threat, but I think it's a little too early for all this "Andy 2.0" stuff. Lendl hasn't even been coaching him that long. He still looks like the same old Andy to me. Still just outside of the real top 3.

BUT... I still feel like Novak has a little bit of catching up to do even if he wins the calendar year Golden Slam before he can be the best ever... Roger still has those 16 majors.

I'm rooting for him, but deep down I'd like to see Fed win some more slams too.

Bryan Tuck is a follower of Tennis.....Mark can you help him set up his blog.  i think he can be the News Guy for the Magazine.

As far as chances go, everyone has a chance, there are just too many things that can happen at any given time during a year.  That being said, that is why they play the tournaments.  As far as "ol Roger", I think he has plenty left in the tank and will always pose a incredibly great threat to Novak.  Novak's saving grace is that Rafa and Roger have to go through each other to get to Novak.  When Novak has to go through both, he tends not to fair as well.

Let's see how the year plays out.  Everyone indeed has a chance, but they still have to play.

Wait wait wait.......What about the number 4 umm whats his name. he did take Novak to a 5 hour match...Murry yeah that guy.....he just might awaken this yeah..... cause he is having another good murry yeah.....

Murry Year: Definition = Never winning anything but always finishing 4th.

That is always possible.  And perhaps Mr. Llendl will teach young Mr. Murray how to finally win one.  Guess we will see.
