Hi everyone. I know that most internet users run willy-nilly copying great photos and pasting them to their favorite websites (Tennisopolis included.) I couldn't imagine how many illegally duplicated photos are on Facebook alone. Not to mention all the illegal vids on YouTube. Nonetheless, it is not allowed. Unless you have been given permission by the author of a photo (some people call them photographers, but in the world of copyright law "author"…

Looks like we'll need to be changing out the first image on the
Main page. We've been boasting that we have enough members in Tennisopolis to fill Centre Court (at Wimbledon of course) which can fit about 15,000 fans. But in a few weeks we'll surpass the capacity of the largest tennis stadium in the world, Arthur Ashe. Ashe can hold 23,200 fans. Right now, Tennisopolis just broke through the 22,000…

Well, OK - we cheated. We couldn't find a pic of both babies today, so we just photoshopped this one. How did you figure it out? We think this is Charlene Riva rather than Myla Rose. But can I just stop and say, "Charlene?!?" really?...
Charlene?
Zurich - Only hours after their widely anticipated birth, the twin daughters of Roger Federer and Mirka Vavrinec are already being tipped for tennis stardom, with London bookmakers Friday…

In yet another ''only in Miami'' story, French tennis player Richard Gasquet had his two-year drug ban lifted Wednesday after only two months because an international tribunal ruled that he had inadvertently ingested cocaine while kissing a woman he didn't know at South Beach nightclub SET during the Sony Ericsson Open in late March.
Gasquet, ranked No. 23, had withdrawn from the tournament with a shoulder injury on March 28, partied at…

Even though the amazing 2009 Wimbledon final is behind us, I still find myself thinking what could've been for Roddick. He's never been this close to winning W or to beating Roger in an important match. Oh so close but this ain't horseshoes. Andy had to settle for the big dish again (second place) and it was tough to watch.
Why? Why did Andy come so close? And why did he still fall short? Will Hamilton breaks it down in the following video. Check it out. Post comments here at…

It can't happen and it won't happen. Nadal's legs are breaking down and he simply needs a rest. If he can't dominate on the red clay of Paris, there is no way he can win 7 straight on the green grass of Wimbledon. Besides,
he just lost to Leyton Hewitt! 6-4,6-3. Uncle Tony thinks Rafa should hop on a plane and head back home. i.e SKIP WIMBLEDON. Exact quote:
"If… Continue

Head, the Amsterdam sports-equipment producer that creates the Penn ball brand, said it would close its tennis-ball plant in Phoenix on March 5. In January 2007, Head began producing tennis balls in China and since then has increased output there. It's now closing the U.S. plant and will produce all its tennis balls from China. A statement from the company on Wednesday didn't specify how many employees are affected by the move or how much the closing would cost.
I'm actually shocked…

Do you want to make a little side cash while you are watching TV?
The Passive Dad blog posted this great article about stringing rackets for dough.
If you play tennis weekly or enjoy hitting hard top spin shots, you have probably had to have your rackets restrung several times. Tired of paying a club or someone else for a tennis restring?… Continue

Couldn't you just see Andy joking with the crowd at a charity auction, and saying that for the "right price" he's give the lessons on the auction block in the buff? That's so Andy. But when the woman who won pressed him, even Andy had to backtrack.

I was there, in the danger zone. The place: Albuquerque, NM in The Pit. The occasion: Pete Sampras vs. Sam Querry. The court was too small and both players were returning closer in than they were comfortable. The fans were close and where i was, center behind the baseline, we were all ducking for cover the entire match. We learned to pay attention and not take pictures while the player was serving toward us. A little old lady 2 rows in front of me got…

I'm not normally one for tennis gadgets and "get great quick" schemes, so I'm always a bit skeptical of any tennis gear that
Jack Kramer himself wouldn't use. You can call me a traditionalist. So, when the guys at

I'm off in the morning to test my mettle under Tucson's desert sun. Why Tucson, why?
My 4.0 team won the Northern New Mexico region and have the pleasure of playing the winners from the El Paso, Phoenix, Flagstaff and Tucson regions this weekend. We have a pretty strong team but we have to play 6 matches in 3 days, and being that we are all a little long in the tooth, we may not make it through Sunday.
Wish me luck. I'll see you on the other…
