"New Tennis" : new rules for making the game even more fun, exciting, and fast-paced.

Well, I probably should be working but am going to take a few minutes off to quickly write about tennis things on my mind for years. I think the game of tennis needs to change its rules to keep up with the times.

Example: why is there a rule that disallows volleyball style serve? If you can visualize a volleyball service, the player stands back from the baseline several feet, then rushes forward several steps, tosses the ball, then jumps up and strikes. According to current…

Del Potro eyes chance

It remains to be seen whether the reigning US Open champion, Juan Martin del Potro, will be fit enough to defend his title later this month. The Argentinean hasn’t played since the Australian Open at the beginning of the year.

He reached the fourth round in Australia but was struggling with a wrist injury during the tournament. The injury didn’t clear up and del Potro was forced to have an operation. The injury forced del Potro to miss the French Open and Wimbledon as he recovered… Continue

If I Was Roger Federer ...

Well, first thing I probably wouldn't be doing is typing this blog entry: I'd be doing laps in my swimming pool filled with my millions!

Seriously, though, if I was him, you know what I would've done over the past couple of weeks? (And this may sound crazy) Played either in L.A. last week or Washington this one.

I know: Crazy, right? But not really if you look at it.

First, I know there have been some bouts with injuries this year, but his schedule's been pretty… Continue

Looking to get back in shape so lets play some tennis. All levels that can rally welcomed.

I am in drastic need to get back in shape and tennis has done it for me before so now it will do it again. I am looking for fun people to play with and just rally. Once upon a time I was a 5.0 player and need some work to get back up to that level. I am looking for any level players that can rally. I can provide helpful instruction as well just to help develop your game as you are helping me to get in shape. Stamina is preferable I can usually play 5 hrs so I would hope for at least 2 hour…

Any beginner tennis players in Salem, OR?

Hello,

I just moved in Salem a couple of months ago, and I need to find a tennis partner. I'm just a beginer, so you don't hope that I can keep the ball in forever.

Feel free to send me a message if you are interested.

Tennis Court Drills to Improve Quickness

One of the easiest ways to improve your tennis game is to work on your footspeed and movement on the court with Tennis Court Drills. We don’t have to spend a TON of time working on this, because a little

each week will dramatically improve our movement.

Here’s a simple but very effective drill we can do either on the court or at our homes that takes just a few minutes to complete. It’s called the Tennis T-Shuffle Drill:…

Anyone for Tennis in Lincoln Square at Welles Park (Montrose/Lincoln)?

Hello,

I am looking for people who are looking to play tennis and hopefully in the process improve their game/use the time to get a good work out in. I am intermediate and probably a 3.0. I play a couple times a week but would like to play as often as possible. I hate gyms so this is my time to really take advantage of the great weather and have some fun as well.

Looking for fun, worldly people who don't obsess with checking facebook and iphones…
