Aside from the pros, at my blog, Tennis Talk, Anyone?, I like to get feedback on my game and share some of my experiences. Well, let me tell you about something I've never experienced on the court before in my 20 years playing: It was a "clothes" call, indeed!

Today, I made my first appearance since September at the racquet club I belong to. I've been on the disabled list for a while with pretty bad Achilles tendinitis, and had to do… Continue

Quote of the Day: Bartoli on Yuri Sharapov

He didn't put any pressure on me. He wasn't saying, 'You have to win,' or 'You have to do this or you have to do that'. He's not like Maria Sharapova's dad. It's completely different.

Tatiana Golovin Fatal Woman

After her recent withdrawals from Birmingham and Eastbourne, Tatiana has finally decided to skip all the grass court season : she pulled out of the 3rd Grand Slam of the year today. Pharr Tennis Center drills Sat, 6/14

This was a really fun event. I joined the low intermediate group and although I think I was down a level it was certainly good practice! They mixed up the drills so that we did baseline hitting (as well as playing points), volleys, overheads, serves (some return practice but not much). For $5 you really could not beat it. I don't know about the other groups involved, but ours did not include any tips from the coaches involved - just the hitting drills. Helpful, and hey for $5 who expected… Continue

Both tours are playing their final warm-ups before hitting the All-England Club for the biggie: The men are in Nottingham and the women in Eastbourne, and both are in s'Hertogenbosch for a co-ed affair they like to call the Ordina Open. But while taking a look at the draws for the two women's tournaments (and last week's, too) I noticed something: Where are the five top contenders to come away with the Wimbledon crown? That being Maria… Continue
