Well at least Andre didn’t sleep with his mother

Tennis Player Andre Agassi Stands With His Girlfriend Brooke Shields April 1997 In Califo

...And now comes word that Andre Agassi is about to share his deepest darkest with us all. Thus, in keeping with the way celebrity memoirs are peddled, Andre has admitted to using crystal meth during the period in 1997 when his career sank in the toilet.

This is how you sell a memoir, Hollywood style. He did not spend years promoting appearance as everything,… Continue

While the cats are away, the mice will play

Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha 2009 - Previews

It’s been kind of interesting to look at which small fry have emerged to positions of success over the past two weeks while the big guns have been preparing for the year-end tournaments. Mainly, this has turned out to be an exercise in confirmation of why the best players are the best, and why the remainder are the also-ran.

Once in the Lifetime Chance

As you can see I have had tremendous drive to succeed as a player and as a tennis coach as well.I still have otherwise I would not educate myself on daily basis.

During the time period I was with that player under 14 whom I brought from number 10 to number one in less than one year I realized that if I want to bring somebody to professional tennis I have to start to teach him/her from very beginning. Why is that? By coaching that player I saw that is almost impossible or impossible to… Continue

Can we finally get rid of courtside coaching?

Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis - Day 3

I’ve always maintained that courtside coaching in tennis was a spectacularly bad idea. It has offended me at a lot of levels. For a start, I do not believe that all sports are created equal. An idea that may work well in one sport (such as mid-game coaching during a basketball match), simply may not translate well into another. Can you imagine a pair of figure skaters… Continue

Me as a Tennis Coach

Me as a Tennis Coach

From “Me as a Tennis Player” is obvious that I had tremendous drive to succeed - to become the best that I can be, but unfortunately this was not possible because I did all by myself without being coached by anyone, not to mention quality tennis coach.

In my coaching career has been a little bit better situation. My playing career ended with graduation at WSU.After, that I started to teach recreational players in one tennis club in Germany. As a tennis teacher… Continue

If Stockholm Open 2009

Finally I was here, the If Stockholm Open 2009. The matches I was going to see were not the ones I originally hoped to see but I was there on tuesday and the real action was on wednesday. The differences? Well the wednesday had players like: Soderling, Ferrero, Haas and Baghadits to offer, while the tuesday had future hopes Kontinen and Dimitrov, both junior Grand Slam champions. Also playing on the tuesday were: Kendrick, Belluci, Nielsen, Berrer,… Continue

Davydenko was smarter than Nadal

2009 Shanghai ATP Masters 1000 - Day 8

I had mixed feelings when I read recent news reports quoting Andre Agassi as saying that both Federer and Nadal are on the decline. Of course I gave Agassi the benefit of the doubt of assuming that he was only responding to questions asked by the media. But still I found his statement to be in slightly poor taste.

Although he was a member of the previous generation of… Continue

How Will History Judge Nikolay Davydenko?

Maybe you expected it, but if you didn't, no worries: I'll bet you're like about 95 percent of the tennis fans out there!

I'm referring to Nikolay Davydenko winning one of the ATP Tour's biggest stops, the Shanghai Masters. He followed up his near-classic semifinal win over Novak Djokovic with a straight-set defeat of Rafael Nadal, the top seed. This is Davydenko's fourth title of the season, all coming post-Wimbledon. I wonder if his legs are a little fresher after being sidelined… Continue
