A new era in women’s tennis could be dawning after the French Open welcomed a new name to its Roll of Honour, Ana Ivanovic.
Ivanovic had come close before, falling in the French Open finals last year to Justine Henin and in the finals at this year’s Australian Open to Maria Sharapova but on Saturday she kept…

Had a great time tonight - met Matt, LisaLou and Rosemary and got in some good groundstroke practice. Lisa took some pics with my camera (ok, HOW did I not get pics of you and Rosemary??) of Matt and I so I'll get those uploaded as soon as I can.
I'd definitely recommend this informal get-together to anyone - there were several unused courts!

I never sensed any determination. He never put himself in that state. I was watching his face. Closed. Even when he broke back in the second set, you couldn't read anything on his face. He wasn't sending any messages to Rafa...He didn't have a winner's mentality. It wasn't the real Roger.…

I used to work in the footwear business. I understand that most shoe companies copy each other to one degree or another...there's only so much you can do with leather, rubber and mesh. So I wasn't surprised when I saw the Lacoste Stealth Collection at SneakerFiles and saw what to me looks a lot like the Nike Air Trainers that are set to be reissued this year. The Lacoste's likely don't have the tech, and are…

In the end Roger Federer, like the incredulous crowd at Roland Garros, had no choice but to salute Rafael Nadal.

Nadal protected his aura of invincibility in…

....overall I was really pleased. I met up with Tom V. from the Cedar Park Group. We played at the Cedar Park High School courts, 9am. Hit around for about 1 1/2 hours. Thankfully Tom was patient with me...consistency was never my high point and it will take a while to get that back! Tom has great ground strokes and was even gracious enough to give me some good pointers on the topspin forehand, which I really appreciated. He seems like a nice guy and someone I would enjoy playing again. We made…
