Mr. Wawrinka..The unknown Swiss or Soon to-be-known Swiss ? :)
Just finished watching Wawrinka vs. Monfils. Was really impressed with Wawrinka when had flown down to the Big Apple to watch the US Open last September and saw him performing..Those were courtside tix so luckily got a good handle on his playing style..He was amazing ! One of the smoothest one handed backhands, nice slice , and that serve is a monster ! Was surprised he lost to Youzhny in the Quarters. Really have been keeping an eye out for him ever since. Well,against Monfils right now , the first set was tight , but he really destroyed Monfils in the 2nd and 3rd !
He faces Roddick next. My risky prediction is I think he causes an upset and takes Roddick out . Roddick can get shaky against big hitters of the ball,plus this guy serves as hard as Roddick !
I think it's time to add this underrated Swiss guy to the mix...What say buds ?

I wouldn't say he's underrated; the guy has been top 10 in the world and deserves to be back there. He just needs to keep it together mentally, hit plenty of backhands and start making the latter stages of big tournaments on a more frequent basis. Everyone on tour knows about his talent and its just a case of when he is going to live up to his potential.

I actually hope he loses to Roddick for the mere fact that everytime he plays Fed, it appears he rolls over. As talented as he is, he gets totally and completely psyched out when he plays his countryman, and that would probably be the next round. I don't suspect that Robredo will give Fed any type of challenge.

Wawrinka is not unknown, but is unpredictable.
He will prob. beat Andy, but will as you say "roll over" when he is up against Fed.

I think he'll turn a corner this year and play hard against the Fed-meister. They spar against each other frequently and both have a good handle on each other's game Mark,plus he looks really determined this year , so I think he makes the transition..Fed is feeling the heat from a lot of people on tour , including Nadal and Djokovic , so he doesn't feel as invulnerable as he did in preceding years..Gilles Simon took him all the way there, so he's bound to be a lil fatigued as well..Let's hold our breaths for this talented power blaster !

I think it'll be a much closer match this time than preceding times..I'm pretty certain it'll be a TOUGH test for Fed to play against his bud this time around..

Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka quit his new family less than a year after the birth of his daughter to focus on his tennis, with Swiss media reporting that the World number 21 left home for a hotel room in late September. Since the dramatic walkout, the one-time number eight won six of 10 matches to end 2010 and began 2011 this week with a first-round win in Chennai.
The 25-year-old married former television presenter Ilham in December 2009 and they had a child last February. “Stan returned on September 20 after the Davis Cup in Kazakhstan and told me he had new priorities. He packed his bags and moved into a hotel,” Wawrinka’s wife told tabloid the Blick.
The marital split came only a few months after the player parted with his longtime coach and childhood friend Dimitri Zavialoff, hiring Swiss Peter Lundgren, Roger Federer’s former mentor.
Swiss media reported that Wawrinka felt that he has only five more years to make an impact in tennis and hence cut out family distractions.

Gotta say it was the best performance id seen so far. 70 winners 25 aces 20 UE's (approx).
Although Arod gives you the same shots all the time it will be different with fed. Hope he can stay as cool mentally and if he stays aggressive Will have a great chance. Lovely to watch!
