There are guys with naturally better backhand volleys with a nice compact motion with a great cut. Are you one of them?

Or do you own a versatile forehand volley, with a great dropshot on that side or a solid flat drive volley kill on that side?

Seriously?!?

Not even close. My BH volley is one of my weaknesses.  I've been told that I hit it too late.

What about you?

I've had to shorten up that backhand volley a little bit. It's pretty solid now. What's been happening is that my "German" backhand slice (swing path across) tends to influence the backhand volley.

My forehand drop volley is one of my best shots. I don't drive my forehand volleys hard flat, but use alot of slice or soft compact flat.

Sometimes, I do "no look" forehand half volleys, which led Becker's former backhand coach to comment I was a Mac type player.

Oh, I see that I really didn't answer your question Tim!

My forehand volley is good.  I can do lots with it; depth, angle, drop, even lob.  And I can really stretch long on this side which helps the deuce poach of course.  BH, not so much.  :-)

Well, sounds like you've got a weapon for doubles! That forehand lob volley is deadly when the two guys are at the net.
I tend to think my bh volley is better as it is more compact as i tend to overswing the fh volley. My touch shots on either side i like to think is pretty good. I do however drop my hands, take my eyes of the ball, sometimes need three goes to put the ball away.
Its so different coming onto the ball playing singles or s&v i really enjoy low volleys at my toes and half volleys. I can also get very close to the net off my serve which I've noticed seems more important in my doubles game than my singles the more i move up the ranks.
I always think of McEnroe for the volleys first off, then when I miss, I think I should've been more sharp with the cut like Edberg. The picture of McEnroe's backhand volley is always killer. I think about that or Laver's picture on the low forehand volleys. I try to get in their positionings.
