Maybe I'll tell my community college boys to try the 4.0. From what I understand, alot of advanced guys pile into the 4.5 draw because it is the biggest pool. I heard this from talking to the Canyon Crest Country Club shop director, and several other people.
I've only done a doubles tournament with my friend and an intramural UC Riverside tournament twenty years ago. It would be fun to try 4.5 for kicks then. Do you have to be a USTA member?
I see it listed on the USTA Tennis Link, Russ. Ah, I don't play enough sets to enter tennis tournaments, not like my days of racquetball. I would train for those racquetball tournaments very seriously!
Yea? There are multiple events you could play in. They have 3.5 and 4.5 events. I like to be in "training." I hope to find a few players to practice with. I enjoy the competition. Even if I lose, I win...
Go to USTA> enter 651712211 for tournament code
Cool. Here is a direct link:

(p.s. I also moved this thread into the General section from Pro.)
Hi Doc. You might want to post this in the LA Group discussions to get some more local attention. We have a couple Pasadena Groups - I see you are a member of the massive Westside Group, Hollywood, SB. There's also a huge SF Valley group.
didn't hear about this...would be fun to play it...will consider and spread the word!

I can imagine that! Would be very cool. And have a social gathering afterwards. I did that with the 3.5 team I coached this summer.
