The US OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS will officially get underway Monday Aug 29th with first round action but the qualifying rounds are happening now. The behind the scenes action started already as did the 2011 Wilson STring team. Saturday was the first day the racquets were strung onsite, nearly 300 frames strung just today. Although I am not at the open this year, my past experience at the US OPEN will be shared here as will my stringing posts, updates on details of what its like as an…

New to this site - not even sure this is the way to begin but here goes.
I am a beginner again; I have been away from the game for a long time - taking lessons - and would like to set up some play time in evenings after 7 PM while weather is so hot. Live in NW Austin. If interested, please respond. Thanks!

Lots of anticipation leading into the US Open and all eyes are glued on World No.1 Novak Djokovic, the man that can do no wrong or at least can only win. Rafael Nadal had a handful against the French qualifier but tomorrow will need more to beat a top 10 player such as Fernando Verdasco even though he has a perfect 11-0 record against him. Novak should have an easier day as he faces a qualifier but this qualifier has been in the top ten himself so Novak better not count out Radak Stepanek…

It's been way too long since I've been on Tennisopolis. I just moved to Yorba Linda, CA. If anyone out there can hit late Friday afternoons, please let me know. I'm 1/2 mile from the newly built Yorba Linda High School.
My skill level is "out of shape", but I can still hit the ball decent and hold a rally.
I'm looking for a hitting partner, not someone to peg me with tennis balls.
Let me know if you're interested.

I think that has to been an easier way to connect to other tennis people. I know some people get a discussion board going to find someone to hit with..but I think there should be that added organization. What if...
You went on the discussion board and started a thread saying as an example (Checking-in: Aug, 11th, 2011, Thursday. Ready to play at 5:30 pm ) That tells anyone else looking to hit that day you're available to play that day and what time, now it's just about…
