Early predictions for the 2012 Australian Open (only a week before it starts!)

Be bold and make your picks a week early! Let's make it a little more interesting. Because it is so early, we can make a first pick, second pick and a third.

Here are my picks for the Australian Open: men's (Djokovic, Murray, Tsonga), women's (Stosur, Kvitova, Azarenka).

I know my picks are a little strange, even for me, but that is what my guts say. What does your guts say?

Such a bad pick!  What was I drinking?

At least I got both champions exactly right.  :-)

C'mon now! Someone make a pick other than what's been noted. I want to see some interesting picks instead of the Top 4 mixed in with the big hitters. :)

LI NA for the Mens Draw and Djoko for the womens draw.

Now that's interesting! Djoko fits in Li Na's skirt, he's so skinny. lol

you said be different. I think I Pick the wildcards that would have no chance.

IF you switch them that will be the real deal. LI NA & Djokovic

But I would like to see murry win one.

I think Djoko is the only one today that has a game to win all 4 majors this year.  Last year I predicted that Djoko will win all 4 and he was soooooo close. To bad Federer stop my prediction. IM going with my gut again and say he will do it this year.( Djokovic wins all four majors )

( injury & Gluten Free only )

Now, that's a REAL prediction! He would be on the level of the Terminator. Well, okay. If he does win all four, I will ask my coach friend to tell Sharapova to stop screeching. lol

NOW THATS A BET!

Also...........Sharapova doesnt Screech she SKREECHES ( to the EXtreame! )

Great AO rd 4 possibilities:

Djok v Raonic

Tipsy v Ferrer

Murray v Monfils

Simon v Tsonga

Fish v Delpo

Dolgo v Fed

Berdych v Wawrinka

Isner v Nadal

can only see Kohlshrieber, tomic, nishikori, guasquet squeezing in.....

I like Djok v Raonic and Isner v Nadal the best of those bunch. I need to actually look at the draw now. lol

So this is how I have rd 4:

Djok v Raonic

Gasq v Ferrer (I gotta go with Richie, he's one of my faves)

Murray v Monfils

Simon v Tsonga

Kohl v Delpo (I think upset of Fish)

Dolgo v Fed

Berd v Dmitrov (I know I'm saying upset of Wawrinka, your man)

Isner v Nadal

Honestly, the 2012 AO is going to something to watch, especially with Ivan Lendl being the new coach for Andy Murray.  I'm aslo hoping that Roger Federer will finally put the negative minded fans to rest by winnning his 17th grand slam and start out 2012 with a bang.  Of course, you cannot denounce Novak Djokovic as a top pick, I mean the guy is a physical fitness beast.  On the womens side, I like Li Na who is a darkhorse and Kim Clijsters, and please, don't ask me why I chose her.  She just has this ability to play an event (when motivated) and just does a superb job.  I am also liking Sam Stosur, especially with her awesome serve and sound baseline game.  It will be an event worth watching, stay tuned!

Sorry, Jason. Clijsters is out of the Australian Open. She is among the long list not able to play due to injuries. I do like your bold darkhorse pick, Li Na. She has what it takes to win a slam. Stosur also has that great kick serve and forehand.

Djokovic is a flexible maniac. Some guys think he's a little frail, but I think he's definitely much sturdier than what those guys give him credit for. So I guess you picks on the men's side is the top 4 minus Nadal.
