"I don't know if I’ll be ready in time for the U.S. Open," he said. "I can't say yes or no. [The injury] is not the same as other years, and I have found it a little different."

I am very sad to announce that I am still not ready to play ad have to withdraw from this year's US Open in NYC. I am sorry since I always found great crowds and great support, but I have to continue with my recuperation and preparation to be ready to play in the right conditions. I want to say hi and thanks to all the fans in particular to the new yorkers. I'll miss you all this year at the Open!

Yeah it takes time to clean up from steroids.
Well, that was the rumor during Wimby '09 among some teaching pros I hung out with in L.A.. Whether it was/is true or not, tough to say. I like his forehand though and to have it not there at the U.S. Open is a travesty.
So it's a done deal. The fiercest competitor alive is out. US Open just became more boring.
I am broken hearted. I agree Tim, the U.S. Open just became booring. Coach, what? Steroids? Never. He is just a beast.
Sad news. I was hoping to get an autograph. Maybe I'll have to catch him at Indian Wells next year.
I got his autograph on my white Adidas windbreaker, along with Laver's signy on the other sleeve. Beat that!
I have Jack Kramers and Don Budge, in the Book of singles.
