What did Brian Baker do Wrong to lose to Simon?

Chatting With Brad Gilbert on twitter, I was mentioning to him that Brian needs to keep changing pace, , then on cue baker blows Simon away with soft paced shots & drop shots making Simon flat footed. But in the 5th set Brian tried to out hit Simon who was moving much better side to side and hit much better with the pace. in the end Simon was able to tee off on his big shots to easily win the 5th set.
