Sampras to play Safin in 2011 China Open exo!
This will take place September 30th at the newly built stadium. Safin has a strong base of Chinese fans and retired at the China Open in 2009. Going to be interesting!

Seems like it could be even. I know Sampras is staying in form, but has Safin? Safin has youth on his side, but I'd guess that he is not as conditioned as Pete.

Sampras had his cross-court game working early but was unable to overcome Safin’s powerful first-serves. Sampras was broken early in both sets that ultimately proved the decisive factor in the match.
