Federer's First Round
I'm just getting through Roger's first round match and was wondering what our community thinks of his chances at taking home the trophy this year. Can he do it?

You know I think he can do it; I actually picked him to the final and losing to Murray (don't ask my why - picking Murray is like a disease I have). But after seeing his first round match, I don't think he can do it. His mind is not in the right place. He needs to be confident and hungry, but is coming across more like scared.

That what I think too. It seems like he chokes during the big points and ends up choking the whole match. The loss to DelPo in the final in '09 and the semis to Novak last year really shook him up and he is no longer the same. Tsonga rattled him up pretty badly at Wimby this year. I'm not sure if he can wright the ship but now is the time to do it.

I agree that it is now or never: Djokovic is tired, Rafa is sore, and Murray isn't ready yet.

Scratch that. Murray lacks confidence. But once he wins a major, he could go on a roll.

His forehand has a higher takeback and a longer slot, a step in the right direction. If he gets the forehand rolling, I would say he has a good chance against Djoker.
