Today David Koellerer was banned for life, and fined $100,000 for fixing matches.....

At one point he got as high as #55 in the World.  Now he is out.  Is this punishment too harsh, not harsh enough or just right.  Assuming we are all honest.....and assuming that he started out that way too....what amount of money would it take to get someone to do something like that?  What would it take for you?  One would think that at some point he figured that he wasn't going to make the kind of money he thought he would once he made it to the Pro level.  Well, this was one choice that wasn't worth it in the end.  Your thoughts?

Hey, did you happen to get this from our facebook post today?

I wonder how they caught him.  Would love to hear the juicy behind the scenes details, but they'll probably want to keep them secret for the next guy.

I actually didn't.  Just saw it posted all over every sports page practically in America.  Can't believe it.  A guy living the dream.  Playing tennis for pay.  It is his job.  And he throws it all away.  What an idiot.

well fixing a game takes the passion and the desire out of the game. oh the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat,  let wisdom be the greater part of your valor and if you have a fool's ambition expect a fool's reward. ........

It wouldn't take much money, Mark. But with that fine, he should've never even considered it. No, it's not too harsh, considering the possibility such activity persists.

Sometimes you have no choice.  What would you do when an "OUTFIT" approaches you?
Like a crew, you mean? You say, "I don't know what you're askin'" a bunch of times.
with a hidden tape recorder in your pocket?  lmao
Then say, "Hey, did you know Davydenko loves to drink vodka and do the disco? Betcha didn't know that!" That should get them thinking this guy's too cuckoo to fix a match.
Ya'll crack me up.  The tape recorder would totally be a good idea.  For me, it would never be worth it.
