Ive been playing since i was 7 yrs old and i have never been more than a day with out playing since there has been a lot of rain this year this is the longest i have been with out playing now i feel like iam taking advantage of the rain am i wrong or paranoid. So my ? is how much time should you take off a week

I understand where you are coming from.  Actually, taking a little time off can be very very very good for your game.  Somehow, you see the court different and understand you timing and balance a little better.  I'm not sure why. 

 

In your case, you need to be careful about something that is very common for kids that play every day of their life:   burnout. Maybe there is a book on it that would be smart to read.  It is important to pace yourself and your development.  Hopefully a coach can chime in here and give us some perspective.

I think time off from anything is a good thing.  Like Mr. mayor said, we don't want to get burnt out.
More time for gym work and fitness. But taking time off can definitely affect your muscle memory of your strokes, especially the serve.
I think time off is a good thing...you get a chance to reflect on how your game is developing..perhaps even reinvent yourself a bit...try another sport..get other muscles groups working..yoga, ballet, heck even rugby..they all help make you a stronger person..physically and mentally...when you get to be one of the best out there, what seems to separate the champion from the challenger is all wrapped up in that 8lb block on top of your shoulders..those that can master that court truly are champions...
