I my Best encounter was on a plane back from a tournament in L.A on Southwest where i sat nxt To Cuba Gooding Jr he was very nice we talked all the way to Oakland
Very cool.
I'm thinking and thinking and NOBODY comes to mind. I have seen many famous people and got a few autographs, but nothing more - no conversations, no good stories.
When I was a kid, we were walking thru a terminal at JFK airport on our way to a flight to Italy. There was a guy in front of us with a huge tennis bag full of tennis racquets.. I asked my dad who it was and it was John Mcenroe, heading to the Italian Open!!!!!
Nahh.. I was like 9 years old.....hahahahahahahaha...... i was just amazed that one person would take that many racquets with them to a tournament!!!! Hey are you goin to the big exhibition in February? its mcenroe vs. Lendl and Sampras vs. Agassi.....

i was in sta barbara on the public courts with some friends back in 94. we were playing around and a guy walks up to us and asked if we needed a 4th. our jaws dropped and eyes popped out of our sockets wen we realized who it was. JIMMY CONNORS. he was wielding one of the prince monos at the time. he just retired and was just there to play for fun. it was a blast to play with him. he got on our case for trying too hard to impress him. of course, you want to play your best with one of the legends. actually, he was really nice. a far cry from the intense competitior he was a few years before he retired. this dude can still hit i solid and he's not even trying. too bad we didn't have a camera to have pictures taken. but my friends and i will never forget that day. he says he frequents the courts in sta barabra to play. you will also see him watching the gaucho basketball games at UC sta barbara. he does have a home there. so if you ever go to sta barbara, don't be surprised to see him out playing with anyone with a racket.
