So I had to get a new racquet tonight, as mine seems to have disappeared in my latest move. Good excuse, anyway! I decided to hold off buying anything new and expensive, and ended up buying the Wilson nCode N4 (oversize). My old one was a Prince, oversize from God only knows what year. I paid $99 at Golfsmith, it was prestrung and that also narrowed the decision down. I went with a 4 1/2 so I can use an overgrip and get to the 4 5/8 I need. The grip was great, I am a heavy sweater and this was just tacky enough to keep it from slipping at all.
I got a chance to hit a few balls tonight, and I was pleased with the feel of this racquet. More than enough power, very forgiving with the big sweetspot, and I mishit only a couple balls. Mostly concentration there of course. I was surprised how much spin I could get on shots, both topspin and backspin. And the power on serve was a pleasant surprise too, it did not take much effort to generate good power. And it seemed like I could hit angles I didn't really think I was going to after about a year layoff. All in all - although of course it's too early to tell - this may just be all the racquet I need.
Didn't get to hit as much as I wanted but The Bug is satiated for today.
