Hey guys - it's time for another open discussion: ice baths (or water immersion)
I was curious to get everyone's opinion on the topic because it seems ice baths are still very popular with some tennis players and coaches. I'm really interested with the details behind it, since scientists opinions are so spread out. Some say it's physical, some others say it's psychological and other say it is placebo.
Personally, I need to experiment and read more about it this week. I will let you know what I find!
What about you guys?

I've read somewhere that Tim P & Coach V use it only to keep their beers cold. Any other opinions? lol
Haha! Ice is a primary ingredient for me to ingest tons of soda. Or I shall feel sick inside.
I have never, ever taken an ice bath. How would it help my aging lower back??
That is for you to find out! Some players use it after intense training to eventually augment blood flow to muscles that were over-solicited.
I have never taken a complete ice bath, but using the ice dip procedure from the tendonitis expert cured my tennis elbow/ tendonitis and made me stronger than ever. I use a cold finish shower after I play and it helps keep the tightness and soreness to a minimum. Try it for yourself. It cant hurt and it will help. I am familiar with cold showers... I'm curious about the science behind cold water immersion vs physical recovery at this point. I am still looking for in depth data about the subject.
What a picture! Looks like he's either meditating, or enduring the cold with his chin up.
