Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

I am currently making a four part documentary series looking at the History of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.

I am looking to talk to people who have passionate memories of the 1980 Wimbledon Championship’s final between Borg and McEnroe.

I am also looking for the oldest tennis fan who has memories of visiting the Wimbledon Championships when they were younger?

If either of these are you please email me at Jamie.broome@imgworld.com

The match was my first major I saw as a kid from start to finish. I remember the drama of the tie breaker as I watched this with my brother and dad on TV. I was rooting fullheartedly for Borg as a nine year old, but ironically, as a teenager, I became a Mac fanatic.

Jamie, You should talk to Walker Joe Jackson.  Here's his profile.  He has been to W many times and was definitely there in that era.

Are you looking for passionate memories from fans that were there?  Or will tv memories count too?  I can remember watching and loving it, but not much detail beyond that.  I still cry every time a  Wimbledon champion is crowned and I'm sure it is due in part to that match.

Good luck,

Mark

Hello Mark,

Yes we are looking for people who were there, however feel free to tell us about any other ways in which you have followed Wimbledon?

Although at home watching telly might not make it into the programme.

Thanks for your help
