That's my pick.  The way he's playing hard court right now is as high a level I've ever seen him play on any surface.  Unless he get's injured, I don't see anyone with the mental toughness to beat him.  Even Djoko seems to be taking a mental/emotional break from Nadal dominating form he demonstrated in 2011 and 2012.  And, IMO, Nadal is serving very well right now, too!

Any thoughts?

He is definitely my pick to win. Unless Djokovic, Murray or Fed picks up form during their practice week this week, I don't see them matching that level Nadal has.

Nadal is serving as well as Mac did against Lendl in 1984 US Open. Emphasis on cagey placement with a good amount of speed. Even got two clutch serves against Isner on two break points in the first set!

I agree, i watched the highlights from a few matches, and he's getting more free points. I hope the US open turns out to be epic, not like grass season. Although the final at wimbledon was pretty crazy.

I was actually surprised that Djokovic made a match of it in the second set.  Nadal has been on such a run even Djokovic didn't believe he could win.  And, he had plenty of chances.  Djokovic just didn't play his best this whole tournament except for a short stretch in the second set of the final.  And, he doesn't like playing in the wind.

He started to get hot, but never picked up the break conversion to go all the way. Rafa down 0-40 on his serve at 4-4 third set, saving those three break points probably killed Djoko's spirit to a degree.

I was surprised too - and if he would have won that 3rd set, as he should have, I would have been shocked.  I think if that would have happened, this could've been a final for the ages!
