I can imagine that! Would be very cool. And have a social gathering afterwards. I did that with the 3.5 team I coached this summer.
Yeah, when the 3.5 won their section at Seal Beach, we went to a Long Beach restaurant called the Prospector. None of the community college drank but I had a beer with the the oldest guy. And it was twelve of us.
The boys still remind me from time to time, of the strange waiter and how the food was. I'm sure there are better restaurants in Pasadena!
Ahh so thats what you meant by "your" team...u meant that literally! You coach them...are these the same group of guys who are now playing 4.0?

Yeah, the same group of boys. Their coach didn't go to their matches much and didn't train them on technique. They were practicing aimlessly and wanted me to help. I asked them to ask their coach if it was alright for me to train them. So I trained them for two weeks for free and went to their regionals and sectionals.
It's funny how I bump into these tennis coaching gigs. :)
The two singles players are already hitting very good. Alberto is very nimble and light and bases his game on Federer. Javier is a big server and has a big Del Potro styled forehand.
So these guys are on the team then? nice...we should really get together and play then!

Yeah, whenever it stops raining. They were forced to move to 4.0 for this February. Funny, they tried to get me to play for their team with Javier challenging me to a singles match. I took their challenge and won.
But I don't believe in sandbagging, not like alot of advanced players who like to go trophy hunting in the wrong categories. I don't have any respect for guys that do that. I know a former Challenger who plays 4.5 doubles here. Can you imagine the look on his opponents' face when they see a 70 mph flat return going at them?
In the Sectional Playoffs in Tucson, I played a recent college level player.... in the 4.0!
I was thinking to myself, how could this guy even look at himself in the mirror?!?
