Well, I'm worried about Nadal's knees. We'll see how well he's coming along with them; hopefully he's had a good recovery over the break. If so (or even if not), I think he can retain the 2 spot narrowly.
Fed
Nadal
Nalbandian (very close to 2nd!)
Ferrer
Djokovic
Roddick
Gasquet
Murray (wishful thinking!)
Davydenko
Hewitt
I would be exciting to have Hewitt in the mix, no? :)
Hi BlueShirt.
Your list looks pretty damn good. The only objectionable guy to me is Gasquet - I just don't think he'll be able to repeat as top 8. You wish for murray, are you a Brit? It would be nice to see him get over his injury and get back on track.
Nah I'm American, but I don't have favs according to nationality (though I do root for my guys during Davis Cup).
I gained a lot more respect for Gasquet and his *capabilities* after he defeated Roddick at Wimbledon this year, and I'm JUST hoping he can grasp on to some kind of mental strength and establish himself as a "real" top tenner. It seems to me he should be inspired by the other young guys ranked higher than him. Namely Nadal and Djokovic; these two absolutely believe they belong where they are. C'mon Rich!
With Murray, he's really a hot head but when he's on ice, he's a really intelligent player. I know people say he's a modern day pusher, but he can mix up stuff with drop shots and lobs. Not always successful, but it's exciting to see him make those types of attempts.
Hey BS! I mean BlueShirt (sorry, I had to),
Your predictions look pretty close to mine. I just noticed that I wrote Ivanisovic when I meant Ljubicic! LOL! Please nobody hold me to Goran!
I'd love to see Hewitt come back too.
LMAO! That was great. I'll always think "BS!" now LOL!
Ya know I thought Ivanisevic was on your list as if to say "Let's get some real tennis in here!" But thanks for explaining. I wouldn't cut Ivan short! I, as well as I'm sure many people, have forgotten the great matches he's had with Federer. nice prediction.
