Roll your grip further over than usual. Brush up on the back of the ball (think about coming over the ball from 10'oclock to 2 o'clock) if you are a rightie. Start slow and make sure the ball is spinning end over end. (Top spin)

If it is still spinning sideways (like you just hit the ball at 3'oclock with a good serve grip.)-- this is a hook serve not a kick.

I suggest finishing on the right side of your body and hitting slow kick serves untill you get the spin right every time. Once you can do that go ahead and speed it up but now you have to finish on your left side (like you are throwing a ball) to avoid injury.
