We play every tuesday night. 13 week seasons and it starts uup right again so I never miss a tuesday.

Untill I got really sick in Houston and couldn't play tuesday. My sub was the champion of the league last year (I was second)... he got a 13, with 18 being the best you can get. I was in second place untill the tuesday my sub bombed. I was only 1 game out of first place! Now I am in 5th (bottom 6 have to pay for top 6 to have food and beer)

I will never miss another tuesday
This league is pretty sick. 4 people per court, 1 set with everyone. Tiebreaks at 5 all and keep track of your score. (If you win all 3 sets it is an 18) and we keep track of total games for 13 weeks to crown the winner

This sounds awesome!  How many guys in the league?  Just 4? or more than that?

I'm in a wed night dubs league with 4 people per night but 7 in the group.  I like to rotate sets like you say, but many of the guys prefer not to....

28 people in the league (broken into two groups)... the waiting list is long

I call it big boy doubles. Everyone who is anyone in sac tennnis has played there. Including warburg and tursenov (before my time obviously)
If your going to miss a night you have to get a sub. That's a good way to work your way in. That is how I started. Plus its free to sub =)

That sounds so familiar.  We have a league here for 4.5 and up that is that size.  The top players are current and former UNM Lobos, Division 1.  The main difference is that you don't rotate - you have the same partner for the whole season, then at the the end, they take the top 8 teams and seed a tournament draw.

I'm yet to play in that.  All the guys in my group that I wrote about above play in it.  I feel like I need to improve my serve before I am ready.  I should do it soon before I get too old and slow.  :-)

Its indoor too. So we play every tuesday no matter what. I made it 2 and a half yrars without getting a sub. I have never had to pay (finished in the bottom half)
We started up another 13 week season tonight.. some of the notable players are andy riggs (currently #2 in norcal mens open) justin garcia (#2 singles / #1 doubles for davis) jeff shin (all 4 yrs at gonzaga) eric roberson (played at boise and plays the" tour")

- I got an 18 and gave everyone else on my court a 10.
6-2, 6-2, 6-2. I won my set with everyone
FAntastic!  Well done.  Were any of those aforementioned super stars on your court?
Nott last night. I was just beating up on 5.0's last night =)
