Ok, just got home.
There were alot of on-court activities which mainly focused on the Quick Start program. Kids were able to hit and do some drills and games. They had stuff like this on 5 or 6 courts.
There was a free lunch (pork or chicken soft taco and tortilla chips) courtesy of Chipotle, ice cream courtesy of Ben & Jerry's, and a free water for the kids from Coca Cola.
Some other activities were free face painting and they had one of those rock-climbing walls.
There were qualifying matches on a few of the outer courts, and a few pro's (I didn't recognize anyone) hitting on the practice courts.
The highlight of Kids' Day was when some pro's came out to Stadium 3 for a few quick points, then some hitting with kids that were chosen from the audience. 2 WTA women came out, one of them being Kaia Kanepi. After the girls were done, Ivan Ljubicic and another guy came out and did the same thing with the kids. On the way out of the stadium, I tried to get Ivan to stop and take a picture with my daughter. All he said was, "No time."
All in all we had a good time and the weather was pretty much perfect!
Sounds like a great time.
As for snagging autographs, it is all about the timing. My son had good luck getting the guys as they came out to practice while they were stretching BEFORE practice. AFTER practice or an event, they are afraid of getting caught there.
