year end rankings (usta)

I ended up the #1 5.5 player in norcal this yr. Think I ended up 6 or 7 in mens open doubles (proze money tournaments)

Anyone else end up with a yr end ranking of some kind? Usta? Local? Junior? Your ranking is your identity

That's AWESOME man! My last year end of year Nor Cal ranking for 4.0 was # 57. However, I have improved tremendously since then, and will be entering many more tournaments this year. So, my goal is to be in the top 6 (4.0) in Nor Cal by the year end so I can be invited to the Grand Prix Tournament. :)

Thanks John! I'm currently #37. Hopefully, I will jump up a few spots after the finals of the Lafayette tournament. After all, I did take out the #1 and the #30 pretty easily! :) I'm playing #5 next in the finals.

Mike-

It doesn't matter who you beat. It only matters when you beat them. If you were to win the final you would get 1000pts. If you lost in the semi you would have only gotten 500. Total the points from your best 7 tournaments? 8? It used to be 6 but its more now. When you look at someones tournament results in the ranking list and it says (does not count toward point total) that is why.

It is common for players like john dye to win the norcal 5.0 by going 15wins-20losses because he accumulates a lot of points and ends up way ahead of me (6-0). They tried a ranking committee 2 yrs ago but it is back to points
