Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

RHs,

Yes, looking forward to return to London (put forward to tomorrow) and getting playing again. Here in Devon I only have access to outside court which has been iced over.

Really looking forward to testing out a new, 'special' YTPP and the TF Vo2 320 and seeing if 1 or other can oust the APD. I also want to 'revisit' my old PD+, a frame that I was surprised to find I really liked when I hit with it fairly recently.

Finally, nice to see the FS/T section on this site operating. Providing it's not too much hassle to upload relevant info, I'll probably stick a few frames up here in a week or 2... I recently did a lot of business on ebay and it's been nothing but an endless chore with ppl pissing me around - I look forward to shifting frames in an altogether easier manner.

Peace and gloves tennis bums!

Rhs,

I've sent the word out to Ed (Xenakis), Jamie (jazar) and  Simon (crosscourt)...

Who else do we need to try and bring into this?

Jimbo (although he's always been a bit of a Harry Lime/The Third Man character, hasn't he?! .).

Mitch Lancaster?

Who else though?

R.

Sent Jimbo a text but it is Jimbo and sometimes he goes missing for months on end :)
We could message those stalwarts of our old group.
Wondering as i sit here reading, how many racquets do you all think you've got at the moment?
Not to throw a wrench in things, but if you want high speed, real-time chat, check out the gray bar at the bottom of the page.  I may have opened up a can of worms......   ;-)
I hadn't noticed a grey bar 'tll I read that thanks!

Just thought id put a list of rackets Id used over the last few years since starting playing. I have dalliances with a number of others that were too short to be of consequence, like the lovely pt600 and the horrible PD Roddick.

Head fxp prestige mid yes this is what I started playing with a few years ago, in retrospect I prob should have gone for something easier as I had only played a handful of games before, then I tried the newer.....

Head Microgel prestige mid which i prefered for its softer feel, lovely racket just lacking some pop.

Fischer M Pro 98 I liked the look of this and is a great feeling frame but again lacked a bit of oomph so I moved on to the beautiful.....

Fischer M Comp 95 started to play some of my best tennis with this racket but in the winter months started to really feel the heavy wet balls were too much for my puny arms. In hindsight I know this was string selection. Pacific have brought out this racket after taking over and Ive gotta say after a couple of hits with it at the atp finals there is deffo something about it.

Wilson k95 Power was what I wanted and power is what I got with this, serving an absolute dream, pin point accuracy but could never balance the power with control, rock solid but hurt my arm also.

Prince Rebel 95 I thought this was it everything the wilson was but soft and plush, again i think naivity in string choice made my play a little erratic at the time.

Prince Ozone Pro Tour IMO the best baseline racket out there, with its thin 18mm beam it had great touch, played really consistent tennis and t was about this time I started playing full western both sides. Just couldnt serve with it !

Wilson PS tour 90 lovely control racket but again wanted a bit more oomph and culdnt get the strings right.

KPS 88 Superb S&V and 1hbh stick just struggled with my fh.

Vantage 95 found the balance to be just right with the VT. When I heard of a softer one was coming on the market I experiented with......

PSTGT (added length) again really good but bit tank like and not whippy enough. Also experimented with the....

Dunlop Revelation Superlong (low flex) really like the buttery smoothness, a beauty that are being kept under lock and key for my older age. A lot of pop, classic :)

Vantage bc20 I hit with it for two minutes and new that it was the same control racket of the original VT95 but a touch softer but still crisp. I really like the recoil from the materials, really feel the ball on the strings and it suits my all round game. Just for me works so well with fresh ALU strung quite tight. Heaven, really easy and soft on groundstrokes for control but with a recoil stiffness that helps tremendously on serve and volleying. The perfect racket

Does anyone know if I can view these threads newest first? Presumably I'm just missing some setting or similar?
Unfortunately, no.  I wish we could each personalize it.   The site is set up chronological, first to last.

Hi guys,

I got an invitation from Rich this morning... a little perturbed that he wanted to recruit me for my string discussion rather than my witty banter, but I figured I'd come along anyway.

As we're all on first name terms here, mine is Chris - I wasn't quite sure what would turn up as a screen name when I signed up, so I went with my TT handle. And let's face it, none of you would have known who Chris was anyway (though to be fair, most of you probably don't recognise Dags as I only dip in and out of the TT thread).

Right now?

Wilson HTour

Wilson NTour2

Wilson KBlade 98

A Fischer Black Granite that was mangled by none other than Potito Starace.

"Potito Starace"?!... sounds like a mafia hit-man?!...  Yes, I bet he mangles rackets!  .).
Somewhat intrigued by the BLX Pro Open, a bit of a PD but softer? Any thoughts on this guys?
