You really think Monica was louder then Maria, naaaaaaaa, not that screeting. Oh and Nadal with his stall, just like freezing a pitcher walking out of the box, oh well. Sharapova turns around and walks to the wall and makes the server wait while she plays with her strings, that shouldn't be aloud either. When the server is ready so should the returner be, servers pace, not the returner. Takes away from you tiring them out when they rest like that

Lol I'm sorry no one grunted louder than Monica! I used to be like the others too, but Nadal is undeniable. Although his "VAMOS!" can be just as annoying as Serena and Sharapova...and he takes forever to serve when he's in trouble!

See, youre not a Nadal hater at all like some of these people on here that make their idiotic statements. I tennis player - tennis fan knows a good player when they seeone, regardless of weather they'd go out for a drink with them. Now the screetching- screaming Williams sisters and that Ididot Sharapova, now them I don't like. But again, I do recognize their tennis, they are very good, I just hate all that crap, it's not needed to hit the ball. Everyone grunts alittle once in a while on a big shot, but come on, they make sellis sound like she was whispering back then.
I like him. . . A LOT. hehehe
i still hate him.....i hate him because his girlfriend is mind blowingly hot
Now's there's a comment , is this site supposed to be about the tennis or what? Maybe if you'd play like him you can have a girlfriend like her, just a thought.

you're right, replying to a thread titled "i hate nadal" requires my most serious and deep thoughts.

just can't understand this whole discussion board in the first place, how anyone can be a tennis player or fan of the sport can Hate Nadal is beyond me. I guess if you want to hate him as a person, then ok I guess, but if you don't know him personally that sure wouldn't be fair now would it. To hate this man's game, that's just wrong. I love the sport more then anything, and to watch him play is just a treat. How anyone can hit with such power and angles with a stroke that basically is going upward and not forward shows just how much power he has. As far as the man's girlfriend goes, never seen her actually, but then again who cares what she looks like.

bro, you're reading way to much into this, this your first day on the internet? nadal is an excellent player, anyone who would say otherwise would be a moron, ask me if i like his baseline grinding play, i will say no, watching him turn every match he plays into a baseline game is boring for me, i like touch players like andy murray, someone who utilizes more weapons in his arsenal then just smacking the ball hard, and with a lot of topspin from the baseline, granted nadal gets to balls and smokes em back at angles that make me confused, its not enough for me to say that i enjoy watching him play. That being said, its the internet, do not join a group titled "i hate nadal" and expect everyone to agree with your pro-baseline grinding love, not gonna happen.

His girlfriend is gorgeous.

Well as you put it "Bro", no it is not my first time on the internet. I commented one time pretty long ago and now everytime someone has to make a comment about Nadal they send it to me when I wasn't even talking to them. Really I could care less what anyone else thinks of him, I don't know you or anyone else from that site. If some how I could stop them from sending me this crap I would. Believe when I say if anyone else makes a comment about a player I'm not going to say a word, I don't really like this site anyway. I'm not a player who believes in being one sided either "baseliner" I am for the most part but do a whole lot of other things too. Last of all I didn't join anything, I once made a comment and that is all, then people keep commenting to me. I certainly didn't say "hey everyone, let's talk about Nadal". Do I expect people to agree with my pro-baseline grinding love, never said that so don't know where that came from. I never said anything about being pro-baseline, I said I love the sport period. I don't expect or care one way or another if people agree with me on anything having to do with tennis, everyone has their own style and ways of doing things and that is why I once commented long ago. I just didn't agree with the whole "I hate Nadal thing" . To say you might not like his style is one thing, to say you hate him and youre a tennis player just didn't make sense. But I will no longer make comments on this site so I won't need to have these conversations.
Very well put !

You definitely can't hate the guy...he's exciting to watch and good for tennis. I'm a huge Federer fan, so rooting for Nadal is almost sacrilegious, but you can't deny the kid's skill.
tennisbum, i think your first sentence was the key: if he can stay healthy. at this moment he's got knee issues. again. yes, he's only 22 but he may not last long enough. he may end up as a monica seles who couldve/wouldve/shouldve been considered one of the best ever results-wise, but outside circumstances prevented it.

I think if Nadal can stay healthy, he could possibly top Sampras and Federer in major tournament wins! Federer won his first major when he was 22 right? (I might be wrong on that...). Nadal, at 22, already has 6 majors under his belt!!!!

So it is quite possible that Nadal could be one of the greatest tennis players of all time!! I just love his mental toughness on court! He has got to be one of the most toughest players to play against because of his mental toughness!

I wish I had that kind of mental toughness, not just for tennis, but in life and in business!
He is definitely not my player I like... but I admire his game and he appears to be a humble and authentic person. I think my inability to embrace him is that he has the type of game that I hate to come up against, a player that can run down almost any ball and always seems to come up with the big point. Being a hard hitting high risk taker... players that didn't make any mistakes just rub me the wrong way.

lol
I kinda see your point, yes even Roger will give his opponent a "good shot gesture" every once in a while but it's still pretty rare. Nadal is a very focused player, he has to be to put out as much effort as he does every single point day in and day out. He doesn't have time to think about the player across the net, he has his own game he needs to keep in check. As far as smiling goes...he's better off not smiling, he doesn't really have the movie star smile. lol

chris eads said:
I think he's very humble off the court. On the court, it's a different story. His demeanor strikes me as borderline arrogant. When he loses a point, he never seems to give his opponent any credit. I know you gotta have your game face on, but smiling once a match wouldn't hurt, and clapping after your opponent straight up owns you during a point would be a nice change.
