Yes, this is a very good video. The L shape of the racquet and wrist is important. But the real secret is there is also an initial L at the elbow, between the upper arm and forearm.

Federer bends his elbow alot more than other players and then has to nearly straighten the elbow on time, yet keep it slightly bowed. This is why he has to keep his head sideways, otherwise he arms his backhand and his shoulders open too early.

Watch the backhands at the end of the Abu Dhabi final 2nd set tiebreaker. He does not keep closed, peeks and then he sprays the backhand wide, not having enough coil to drive the ball.

Fed's backhand is a good rally shot, but it is not as great aggressive backhands in the past with a fuller coil.
