Yesterday, the ATP World Tour proved that just because the top four seeds are playing in the semifinal round doesn't mean the quality is going to be spectacular. In the Skistar Swedish Open at Bastad, Sweden the top four seeds were in action and in the first match Robin Soderling gave up only one game against Tomas Berdych and the second match wasn't much better as David Ferrer only surrendered four games to Nicolas Almagro. In contrast, the MercedesCup in Stuttgart, Germany was seed-less as early as the quarterfinal round and both semifinal matches reached three sets.
In the Nürnberger Gastein Ladies 11 event in Bad Gastein, Austria the only remaining seed, [8] Ksenia Pervak, was double-bageled by Austrian Patricia Mayr-Achleitner. The Austrian was granted a wild card into the tournament and is seeking her first WTA title today against Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez.
