Will the American contenders pull through?

Roddick already has a break at 3-1 over Ferrer, serving big and forcing groundie errors.

Young is hitting very well against Murray, angling his serves and hitting out.

Isner is slated to play Simon and Serena looks to be meeting Wozniacki.

U.S. tennis is still a force, will any of them be the champ this time around?

Roddick has a better chance than Young IF he doesn't implode. Murray will take a while to get going and his retrieval(dare I say pushing?) skills will inevitably force Donald into more errors. It's probably going to turn into a battle of attrition.

Isner will be formidable against Simon with those rockets and Serena will blow Wozzy off the court. I haven't seen Serena hit this cleanly in a while.

I agree with everything you say here. My original pick was Ferrer to beat Roddick based on his tenacity, but I see Ferrer missing some groundies so far. Oh well.

I'm going to pick Roddick to make it through, but not Donald or John. This is not my normal pick, but something about Roddick's attitude this year is making me think he can win this one.

So both Roddick and Isner are through. Ferrer was starting a comeback up a break in the fourth, but got broken back soundly. It was all Roddick after that.

Tell me about it. I hate having to watch more than 4 matches. I went out and hit a five setter and missed the majority of Fed vs. Tsonga. I wouldn't change a thing in my life though. ;)
