Tennis Match of the YEAR set for 2013 April

CoachV Vs. Gus Alcayaga ( current mentor of coachv )

My Friend, Tennis coach, and Mentor in the tennis industry is about 100 years old or something like that he has not to age at all and we are close to the same age now i think.

Well IM coming of age in the tennis industry, and i like trash talking, and there was no better partner and coach to have for that type of fun than Gus.

as a kid he cover many of my short coming of my game. Gus even helped me try to get on tour the first year of the Bronx borough classic championships which we lost in the quarter finals of the wildcard tournament for the doubles, do to injury.

Over the years, he has helped me grow and guided me for free and really asked for nothing in return. i owe him tons!!! which i could never repay....

so i figure let me kick his old arse in tennis so he can feel first hand that the student has become the master and if he only knew the Power of the dark SIDE..V...ader.

IF CoachV Wins this Match Gus Must Where my CoachVtennis Bandanna to work at Forrest hills where he has many ITF players on Tour., he will also give up a 10 pack of private lessons with Gus plus a set of strings and maybe a new headband too....

If Gus Wins he Can Break 1 of CoachV's racquets or keep some of my goodies like my beloved Prostaff.

LET THE TRASH TALKING BEGIN!!!!!!!

the match will be held in the stadium or on grass who knows.

we need support to sponsor this even please give a Minimum of $5.

Got any video of Gus playing? I'm gonna look him up on youtube.

Naw there is no video on you tube. they once did a segment on him when he was in the qualifying rounds of the US-Open talking about how he will never make it. Cool and funny segment, because they took the worst of him and aired it.

But he has created from scratch, some well known tennis pros. let me find the list.

Hope you find some film, I'm gonna check the ATP site to see who he played in the old days.....

about GUS there are many missing facts in this WIKI... he will most likely fill in later.

HA Gus's Devastating backhand my Ass.  Whenever we play he never plays my backhand. Gus always plays my forehand.  He constantly tells me every year "Why is your back swing so big still?" talking trash- "it takes too much time."...teasing me especially after i hit a big winner off of it.

the most fun playing gus is when I hit a big shot he doesnt expect me to hit and give me a dirty look and say's Effen luck that was.

on Clay at Forrest hills, when i first started to learn how to kick serve about 2 years ago, i made him jump off the court flying into the court dividing net, i lost the point because i was laughing at him, i never seen such an old fat guy fly like that before....... XD

Gus Alcayaga

Gustavo Adolfo Alcayaga (born April 10, 1969) is a former World Tour Player from Argentina who won numerous titles and competed for Argentina. He is generally considered by critics and fellow players to be among the craftiest tennis players of his era, and has been known best for his footwork and a devastating one handed-backhand. He was also known for being a hitting partner to one of the worlds greatest players Andre Agassi, Alcayaga is often cited as one of the most charismatic players in the game, and deemed largely responsible for the increase in the popularity of tennis during the 1990s in his hometown of San Juan, Argentina.
Alcayaga is, with Boris Becker, Monica Seles, Jim Courier, Andre Agassi, and good friend Marcelo Rios, pros who have emerged from the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. Alcayaga graduated in 1987 . After accepting prize money from tournaments played in France Alcayaga lost his amateur status and started his professional career, attaining a world rank of 1200 within his first 3 months. He hired a coach to guide him and take the reins in his tennis career. He reached a career high of 324 in 1993 before his unfortunate injury in November of that same year. He turned into a full-time coach after trying to recuperate from his injury to no avail in 1995 with the New York Junior Tennis League .
Alcayaga became the tennis director at Bronx International Youth Tennis Center in the South-side of the Bronx. His main goal was to develop junior tennis players and provide them with opportunity to take tennis and education to the highest level possible.
Alcayaga later became the Director of the Advanced Training Program with the NYJTL in 1996, He served the community and the league to eventually help develop players from the Metro region where tennis was primarily dominated by the Long Island region. BIYTC became a melting pot for junior tennis and ETA tournaments, along with the Educational component more interest in tennis and mostly by Latino and African American players from the community was evident. Alcayaga along with the NYJTL had development plans for a permanent facility and a state of the art tennis center but this project never took place.
Alcayaga retired from professional tennis on May 22, 1994, after losing in the third round of a challenger in Brazil. Alcayaga is married to Lydia Luciano and has one child, Ariana. He is the founder of Top Rank Tennis Academy, which merged with NYJTL in 1994 has developed numerous tennis players in the New York Metro area.
Alcayaga currently is the director of the Tournament Training Program for the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, New York.
