This is absolutely great marketing by... someone. I imagine that the USTA asked RedFoo to enter the tournament to draw attention to it. I think it would be fun to play in it, but there is a strange feeling entering a competition that you have no chance of winning. I think the key is just to enjoy the process and not really concern yourself with the outcome.
Man that Draw SUCKS... its like a Draw of 250 players every year. I usually lose 3rd round in it.
Of course it has 250 players and of course we lose in it. The guy that won it last year was a pro that was just below the qualifying tournament draw. You should do it again and chronicle it here! :)
The southwest section was won by Brian Battistone, you know the two-handled player. His brother Dann is a member here. Here's the draw:
My buddy Ben lost in the first round in a third set tiebreak. The kid that beat him lost easily to the finalist that lost easily to Battistone. Quite a bit of talent in these playoffs - Redfoo doesn't stand a chance.
I hear you, but actually it just did draw attention, both negative and positive. Here we are talking about the National Playoffs which otherwise would not be mentioned here. So, it all goes back to all press is good press, or whatever that exact quote is.
Tim, are you going to give it a go?
Actually, I think the 1$ question is whether RedFoo is actually going to play and not back out at the last second!
