Nadal hints at getting a coach other than Uncle Toni Nadal.

"You never know what is in the future. The time has now come when I can say more to him than I have done previously. I’m not kidding when I say that from now on I will answer him back because I have more opinions than I had before,” the Daily Express quoted Nadal, as saying

“If other people outside my family said to me what he says, then it would be very difficult to keep working together. Also he has three kids, and sometimes he gets tired of travelling. So, far I’ve been happy with how I’ve played this year, but not with my matches against Djokovic. He’s my motivation to play better,” he added Toni had introduced tennis to Rafael at the age of four".

I definitely think he needs a new serving coach and a tactical change. If he got Richard Krajicek or Boris Becker in his corner, it would give Nadal some of the edge to beat Djokovic in the future.

I better check my in box.
Love it!
Better yet, show up in Spain, Hal. You can do it! :)
Where was that great serve that Rafa won the 2010 USO with? He seems content to spin it in again and that will not work against Nole or an "on" Federer on hard courts or grass.
That's what I was also wondering, he was hitting it close to 130mph a year or two ago. Sometimes it takes a year of beat downs to realize you have neglected something.
I remember he was still cranking those 130 mphs against Djoko at Indian Wells. I was there in the nosebleeds and he stopped hitting them when he couldn't get them in. They sounded like hard slaps. :)
My guess is that Nadal thinks the 130 mphs were too low percentage getting in.
he seemed to serve a pretty good % at Wimby and was serving 128 when he beat Roger, but he could pump up second serve, as they say about Pete your only as good as your second serve and his awesome.
There's all the truth in that. If you only get in 50% first serves and win only 60% of those first serve points, then that is statistically around 30% total points won. Then 50% of the remaining serve points are second serve points. If you win less than 30% of those second serve points, then you are toast!
I wasn't aware that Becker was into coaching.  Who has he coached so far Tim?
Becker should be a coach. It's just a dream thing of mine. lol
Thomas Muster was reportedly an adviser to Nadal this last French Open.
