I have played with both and I personally like the microgel radical better. The liquidmetal is a nice frame and is a steal for the price you can get it right now. If you can barely tell the difference and money is a concern, the liquidmetal will serve you well

Hi John,
I haven't hit with both, but isn't the microgel the new series and the liquid metal the outdated series. it doesn't surprise me that the prices could be that different, but I'd say if the liquid metal was good enough for murray and safin two years ago, they still be good enuff for us today! :-)

sorry Mark but Murray and safin have never played with the LM, Safin has always played with a Prestige Classic and Murray played with the i.radical before moving to the prestige pro he plays with now. All paint jobs im afraid. The only one i think who used the LM is Djokovic.

As for John's question i have played with both and I prefer the LM, its slightly heavier with more swingweight. But if I was going for a Radical and its not the new youtek (which is a nice hit) I would deffo go with the i.radical or the flexpoint radical the tour version is also a good racket), both you can get off the bay for a reasonable price. The Microgel is just to expensive for a racket that i dont believe has improved. The flexpoint paintjob is nicer and the LM is a great all round stick, but the i.rad is the best, more stable and more power.
You have to take into account that I beef up my radicals with 20g of lead weight at the top of the handle which adds SW and raises the balance to 8pts HL and weight to 360g.

Hi John. When it comes to racquets, you can't say one is really better than the other. We all have different styles, abilities and needs when it comes to feel. What racquet plays/feels better is a personal choice. Mark is right, the Microgel is the current technology for Head although the Youtek is the newest. Liquidmetal is outdated, mfg discontinued so you can find bargains just about everywhere. I just ordered 2 matched frames of the Youtek Mid Plus so I'm looking forward to hitting with them. I currently play with a Yonex RDX500/90
