Well, where is Bryan Tuck to say Isner is gonna thrash Djoko? Anyone else think this could happen, given Djoko's early loss in Miami and loss at Indian Wells?

Personally speaking, I saw Isner defeat Djokovic at last year's BNP. He served lots of aces and first serve unreturnables. If he can do this in front of the hometown crowd (the Georgian in Boise), he goes down as Davis Cup hero!

Yes, he would be a total hero, but Big John is unfortunately not on top form like he was 13 months ago.  I see Nole fighting hard, HARD, H A R D for country and glory.  There may not be a more patriotic man on the planet.  I will be watching with great interest.

What would you say is the over/under for number of games won by Isner?  9?  EDIT: forgot it was best of 5.  How about 15?

I think a plausible score is 4-6, 3-6, 2-6 (9 games won) if Isner doesn't serve well. But if he serves well and loses, a score might read 6-7, 5-7, 4-6. (15 games won)

Sure 15 games that's about right, Mark.

Well, based on what you said, the over/under for us would be the average of those two, so 12.  I would bet that he gets over 12.   That's my guess.  And you?

Read something about Djokovic noting the high altitude conditions. If so, then the conditions favor Isner's serving some bombs. So I would guess he may get over 12 games.

Isner loses in straights but got over 12 games. 7-6(5), 6-2, 7-5!
