I like Nadal. He is a great player and good for tennis. I do agree that he is a very competitive person and sorta eccentric but we need lots of variety in life and tennis is no exception. I really enjoy all the different types of players on the mens and womens tours. It is a great sport that has the advantage on TV of seeing the emotions and the personalities of the players. Compare football..even baseball and BBall. I think the individual sports have a lot going for them. I sorta think of tennis as boxing with tennis rackets. Mikee.
Sounds like a personal problem to me.
Same here. One of my students said the most interesting thing to me the other day during class. He said that if Nadal beats Federer in the final of the US open it will instantly make him a goat, because Federer has never beaten Nadal in any major final and Nadal will have beaten the presumed GOAT = Federer. I hope her recovers well enough to do this. That will be the most exciting event in tennis history or even if they meet in the final at the open. Federer is getting old it can happen.
Sincerely
Federer FAN

Maybe.
In the beginning, I didn't like him so much. But he has won me over and now I think he is one of the most fascinating and humble players on tour.

Oh no! You're not alone! I know some people who hate Rafa...and they are from his own country! hahaha!
Nadal is the GOAT
Seriously??? Not just yet. He needs a few more majors under his belt PLUS he must have a career grand slam. No US Open, no GOAT. Time will tell, but time will also be Nadal's enemy.

Dear Chris Eads,

I have to admit the thread head-line was quite catchy. I honestly have to say over the years I coined the phrase "Rafa, Nada" because I didn't particurarly care much to watch him perform, however, I have to admire his tenacious back-court game and resilient style, because the last person that he reminds me of is Thomas Muster who had a similar demeanor and approach to the game. Admittingly, Nadal has grown on me over the years, because he simply plays every point as if it meant the match and that to me is a level of thinking we should all aspire to both in our personal and professional lives alike. Many people say it's only a tennis match, but if you look closely at the details you can see some very important life lessons being learned "in-the-moment" of the action.

Sincerely,

Top 10 reasons why I Hate Nadal

1. He serves slower than most male players and even some female players. His 2nd serve makes me sleepy.
2. He takes 5 minutes between each point on opponent's serve to drink water or scratch his butt
3. He is the only male top player who squeals loudly.
4. He runs like his pants is on fire. No fluidity at all.
5. He is overly humble and you know it's all pretentious
6. Rafa sounds like Alfafa
7. He always whip his forehand way above his hand. Painful to watch.
8. He still wins most of his points by tiring out opponent. Fatiguing to watch.
9. He overdoes topspin by a million degree. How about hitting it flat once in a blue moon?
10. His outfit color is awful.
For those of you who think Nadal is great.

I just have 1 question for you.

How can you be considered great when your 2nd serve is in the 80's? That's like saying I am a great basketball player but I can't even touch the rim.

Serve is the most important shot of the game.
Agassi's serve average in 2005 US-OPEN was 90 mph he only hit it hard in the final against federer. and if Nadal's second serve is only 80 and consistently beats Federer then yes he must be doing something right or you can look at it this way... you might still have a chance on the tour.
