Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

This is big news for all tennis fans, and for anyone involved in broadcasting.  Comcast must carry the Tennis Channel on their cable network in the basic package.  Comcast refused to do so and relegated TC to premium sports packages which TC considered "the kiss of death" for advertising.  Turns out that Comcast is a partial owner of the Golf Channel and has that in the basic package; this may have helped TC's case that, since they were an independent channel and not owned by Comcast, they were getting mistreated.  The FCC agreed.  This is the first time that the FCC ruled against a cable provider in this way.

I think I liked that. I didn't want to pay the extra money for direct tv package so I didn't get any cable. Since i only watch the tennis channel anyway. Now I think I'm going to get Comcast!

This is sweet! I wonder when they'll carry it.

I think that Comcast is going to drag their feet on implementing this. I'm happy to have DirecTV and the package with TC. I knew Comcast was doing something dirty when the golf channel got in the basic package. Golf channel is such a specialty network there is no way they could offer it and not the tennis channel on the basic package.

Boo on Comcast! I've always hated that about cable.
